Stay at Local 101 in Reykjavik!

Love, love, love this hotel! It is a charming hotel with an ideal downtown location. We were able to walk and explore the city easily. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. In the evening, they offered tasty dinners right inside the hotel. It only seats about 20 people so book early. GAEL at the front desk was a huge help in calling a taxi to take us to the port and gave us suggestions for places to see, etc. The room was super clean and very comfortable.

The staff was wonderful and the rooms were great.
The issues I had was related to communication. Hotels.com stated offsite parking was available. I did not understand that they meant parking on the street and paying at the meter or parking for free a few blocks away in the neighborhood.
Additionally, I was told that washers and dryers were available at the hotel.I did not realize this meant a laundry service as opposed to self service laundry. So when arriving in the afternoon and departing the next day, there was no opportunity to do laundry on-site.

Terrible room with hard to reach outlets

Location is great, but room was not. Probably the worst room i've ever stayed in. The only outlets in the room were right above the bed, which made sleeping very uncomfortable as i needed to charge my phone and watch, and had to lay next to them. The sink is also outside the bathroom and due to the small sink and high pressure water, it's very easy for the water to splash onto the ground. Not impressed by these rooms at all and do not recommend.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Accommodation is comfortable and the bistro on the first floor is very good. The Staff are all friendly and helpful. I had what i thought was a dead phone and a gentleman at the front desk tracked a place where i could get it repaired. Staff did not tire of providing directions.

Great place to stay in Reykjavik that is better than a a large hotel

A nice small hotel with excellent and very friendly staff and close to the harbor. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant in the hotel for dinner was small and quiet with superb food. We would definitely stay there again
