Very good.

We stayed two nights in this very comfortable hotel with a nice, clean, and spacious room. The breakfast is good. It remains expensive, but we are in Iceland! The hotel is very well located.

Worst, and most overpriced hotel, we have ever stayed at!

We booked this hotel for four nights and left after two because we could not stand spending another minute there. We pre-paid over $1000 Canadian/night for a tiny, postage stamp room that did not have a safe, did not have hair conditioner, faced a concrete building that looked like a prison, did not have any drawers or shelves to put our clothing, and was unbearably hot even though there was no obvious source of heating and it was cool outside.
We asked several times to be moved to a better room and were told that they were completely booked until November. Yet in the mornings we would see that almost every room had been vacated, and we were told by someone else at the front desk that guests typically only stay there for one night. So they could not find a better room for people who had booked and paid in February for four nights!!!!
At the breakfast buffet on the two mornings we ate there, the coffee was horrible, the juice dispenser was always empty, the power went out on the last morning and when we were checking out, there were guests coming to the front desk, begging that someone please provide coffee for breakfast.
We left the hotel and checked in to a fabulous hotel in Geysir for half the price and 10 times the quality.
It is simply shameful that this hotel is charging the price they do for an incredibly basic experience. Do not stay at this hotel! Try the nearby Kria hotel. As another person said, if I could give this hotel a zero I would. And, when we checked out and said we were leaving because we were not happy with our room there was no comment, not what was the problem or what could we have done to improve your stay, nothing!

Dear Jan,
First of all thank you for your feedback.
We would like to address few points directly.
The room category you reserved is accurately represented on our website, including its size and amenities. All room descriptions, photos, and views are available before booking so guests can choose the category that best suits their preferences.
There are heaters which our guests can operate on their own, we could explain how to do it should we were made aware of any issues.
Regarding your request to change rooms, our hotel was operating at a very high occupancy level during your stay. While some rooms appeared vacant in the morning after guests had checked out, those rooms were already allocated for arriving guests later that day. Unfortunately, this meant we were unable to offer an upgrade despite our team's efforts.
We regret the temporary power interruption during breakfast, which was caused by circumstances beyond the hotel's control. Our team worked to restore service as quickly as possible and minimize the inconvenience to our guests.
We appreciate all guest feedback, but we also believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect the information provided at the time of booking and the operational circumstances during a guest's stay. We are pleased that many guests enjoy their experience with us, and we remain committed to providing comfortable accommodations and warm Icelandic hospitality.
Best regards,
Lukasz Z.

Great location and rooms! Staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast each morning was great! There are laundry services. Laundry is expensive but quick turnaround. Highly recommended! We traveled as a family of 5.

Nice views, good food, nice rooms, great location

Our family of 11 stayed in several rooms at this hotel and truly enjoyed our experience. The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet had a great variety and was delicious. But the real star here is dinner. The food was amazing and we canceled our dinner reservations in town on our second night just to eat there again. We also liked the views on both sides of the hotel. The back side faces a cliff where we could see purple lupine flowers and nesting fulmars. The front side faces the town and beach. We could see the famous sea stacks but they were a little far. It is very walkable to lots of shopping, sightseeing and restaurants. We also loved the beds and the L’Occitaine products in the bathrooms. We would stay here again.
