Jaymahal palace visit
We had a wonderful experience at Jaymahal Palace.
Mr. Nayak made our visit truly memorable by guiding us through various parts of the property.

Dirty, dingy, deserted. Don’t believe the Expedia picture
Dirty, rundown, dingy, wear all your clothes in bed and don’t eat the food kind of place.
I got the tickets on Expediaand chose this place because I need to visit a relative nearby. We had stayed in this property 14 to 15 years ago and I remembered it being nice back then. Not the case now.
The entrance sign at the main gate is broken down and nothing improves on the way in. The picture on Expedia is a complete lie. The lawn in the front has a 6 feet tall wire mesh fence all around it, the manager at the reception is the most dour individual you could ever imagine. The restaurant was empty. The lobby was empty, I saw one guest in this entire hotel, and he came out of his room to complain. The first room they put me in the AC did not work, the second room they put me in was a step down from the first it is extremely dingy, there’s barely enough light to see in the bathroom has mold around the sink with a bucket and the power cord to the water heater is repaired with black tape. There’s actually a huge pile of garbage right outside my door. The pictures say it all. i’m barely gonna be in my room except to sleep, but I will not be eating their breakfast and will never return. Just avoid it. There’s no point being this miserable.

Adequate for its purpose
We opted forJaymahal palace for our one night stay at Bangalore as I had to attend a conference at nearby Bangalore palace .
We were on the way back from Coorg where we celebrated our wedding anniversary
The place has huge open spaces and gardens which is both a plus and minus point as it gives a sense of openness but there are lots of events/functions /marriages etc which are held there which takes away from the quiet atmosphere and serenity
We were upgraded to a royal suite room with plenty ofvspace and huge balcony with a quaint swing
The room and bathroom are adequately appointed .
We had some relaxed snacks and drinks at their restaurant which was nice .
Overall a satisfactory stay .
We were on the way back from Coorg where we celebrated our wedding anniversary

Enigma voices performed at this venue, so booked a room for 2 days as it was convenient.
Hospitality is apathetic.
Requested for twin beds as I was staying with a friend, but I was given a room which had twin beds attached making it a king. So I asked for another, which had separate twin beds, but reeked of insect repellant and so did its bathroom.
They took around 2 hrs. to move me back to the previous room whose bathroom also stank like putrid waste, I think the drain pipe(s) don't have proper P traps. Unfortunately all their other rooms were also booked and we had no other options; still not an excuse for such bad rooms. The rooms are probably built in the 90s never have seen maintenance. They're so bad for what's charged that I've been to better & cleaner cottages at one third the cost.
The services was also not up to the mark and the food served at their Gallop's bar was also pathetic. Although, free breakfast was included in the cost, I had breakfast at a nearby eatery just in the premises of Advaith Hyundai Car showroom (I don't remember the name), it was one of the saving graces of my stay.
I don't understand the gleaming reviews here, maybe the other rooms are better but my review on the services and food stands.

Spacious outdoor gardens
The place is nice open spacious with lovely gardens and ambiance outside but the interiors looks a bit run down. A fairly decent place to chill out and catch up with friends and family. Ample car parking space. Toilets are clean. Service is good, waiters are courteous. Food is average.
