Dodgy, not worth the price
Absolutely crazy, lying, illogical staff - even when the wifi cut out on their computer and we said, "See, the wifi doesn't work," they said, "Yes, it's working." Our reservation said it was an AC room, they said, "No, you booked non-AC." Completely impossible to deal with. Also complete inability to answer direct questions. Overheard them refusing to help another guest get transport to the airport.
Ceiling over the bathroom in our 2nd room wasn't complete and construction was happening overhead. People could see into our bathroom but also heaps of debris kept accumulating on the floor. Staff didn't care at all. The 2nd room's window opened onto reception rather than outside. We could hear the night staff talking all night and couldn't sleep.
We asked the staff to call booking.com to help solve the problems. They called their agent who wasn't helpful. We said, "No, you should call booking.com directly," and they said, "Yes, we did." Couldn't believe how many times they lied like that to our faces.
There's a man who's there who insists he doesn't work there. Every time he's approached he says he can't help because he's not a hotel staff member. God help anyone who checks in or out with him.
We left early even though we'd paid in full up front. They wouldn't give a refund for the balance or even call their manager to discuss it. After we left, they cancelled our reservation on booking.com to get an additional 5000 in cancellation fees. My partner cancelled his card so the cancellation fee wouldn't go through. Absolute disgrace and ruined our trip.
When we left they took our receipt to "check" it and didn't give it back. We've been trying for a week to get the receipt back off them. They're being stubborn for seemingly no reason, making us wait as some kind of power trip. We called booking.com to help and they called both the agent (who hung up on them) and the hotel to try to get the receipt for us. Needless to say the hotel hasn't done it yet, even with a direct request!
This has the price of a regular budget hotel but is still too expensive for what you get, even aside from the awful staff. Beware of the reviews on the booking sites!

Disgusting Rooms and even worse staff
Rooms did not look remotely like the photos, extremely small, dated and dirty. My room was covered in dust, wood chippings, rusty nails, dead bugs and more. Sheets didn't look clean and towel was filthy with holes in it. Staff refused to clean my room when asked.
Wifi did not work at all and they did nothing about it. In fact, every time I asked about the wifi they just said "We have high speed wifi" even though it obviously didn't work and they refused to answer any of my questions.
Staff were physically aggressive and intimidating and many sat out of the front of the hotel staring and leering at the few women who dared to walk past.
Disgusting amount of mosquitoes that infest all rooms and common areas.
Staff completely incapable of listening or providing any customer service. Questions are met with completely irrelevant statements or at times aggressive stares.
Often they were extremely rude and would personally insult customers. Whenever there was more than 1 staff member in the reception, they would very obviously talk about us in the local language and, whilst we couldn't understand them, the fact that they kept looking at us and laughing made it pretty obvious what they were doing. Never have I encountered anyone so rude - not just in hotels but literally I have never met a single group of people in my entire life anywhere in the world that I found ruder than this bunch.
Location is awful with few shops or restaurants nearby. The best part of my stay was when I checked out early and moved to a much nicer hotel on Brigade Road.
I wouldn't stay here again even if they paid me.
