Satisfactory

Rooms were spacious only electrical parts needed some mending like regulator of fans n a few switches. Accommodating people n 24 HRS service at the reception were pleasing. Very conveniently place n locality was good food is slightly overpriced was felt so by us all. Overall satisfactory stay.

Very good location near Chennai Central Station. The check in was painful as the owner didn't want to honur the price I paid through trip.com, which he deemed too low. Finally with help from trip.com customer service, I got a room.
The room was spacious, but its cleanliness could be improved. The beddings were fresh and clean though. Wifi was quite weak in room.
Overall, I do not recommend Hotel Joyce for the time you are likely to waste at check in.

Don't go for the basic non ac single room

If you are traveling single, book atleast the non- ac executive single room. I stayed in the basic room.Both the executive n basic are too small. There were mosquitoes in the room. The service was pathetic.It was suffocating.I asked them to fill my water bottle, they didn't. Then I went to the reception n asked to fill it. He told me to fiill it up from the restaurant. And if you take the basic room you will have always climb up one floor because there is no lift till the 4th floor.

Average Budget. Good restaurant.

Good for an average budget hotel. Especially the restaurant was good. Simple menu with good taste.. I noticed people staying at nearby hotel also came for dinner to this restaurant. Affordable middle class hotel.

Not much joy, Joyce!

The hotel is close to Chennai Central Train station and that's just about the joy you'll receive. The rooms were infested with mosquitoes and upon being asked for a liquid repellent, we were curtly asked to buy it at the stores ourselves. The reception was too occupied in Christmas decorations and getting bulk cake orders in place ( additional business) than attending to us. Internet is only available in the lobby and not in the rooms. Also hot water is only available after 8 am ( solar-powered appreciated, but sometimes you need before the stipulated hours).
