Home like resort stay

I usually am a bit calculative with ratings. But Streamedge took me by surprise. Located in valleys of western ghat range, surround byy forests, coffee estates and water streams.. apt place for a resort. Neat cottages and a lot of adventure to keep you and family busy -- zipline, burma bridge, indoor games, rain dance and pool. You could find these details on their website as well.. what you may rarely find about is the friendly nature of the staff, tasty hygenic food and most importantly home like atmosphere...
My whole family enjoyed every bit of it and would definately repeat our stay soon..

More of a hassle than Holiday

I would strongly advise not going by the positive online reviews—this guesthouse/homestay delivers an extremely disappointing experience at the price point of a 4-star hotel.
To begin with, this property can hardly be called a hotel as it lacks even the most basic comforts and services. There is no room service, no reception, no in-room phones, and no in room tea/coffee arrangement. Toiletries provided are minimal and nowhere close to standard hotel offerings, and there is no à la carte menu.
The arrival experience itself sets the tone—there is no staff or guard at the entrance to assist with luggage. We were only able to get help because our relative arrived earlier and managed to call someone.
We stayed in the Cubana room with family (including elderly parents and kids), and it had just one bathroom, leading to constant inconvenience. We were told there are additional bathrooms near the pool, but those were extremely dirty and unusable.
Food service is highly rigid and inconvenient. There are fixed time slots for tea, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and if you miss them, you are simply left without food—no exceptions or room service. Even snacks need to be pre-ordered 4 hours in advance, and are served only during the bonfire, with very limited and average-tasting options.
Lunch and dinner offer just 1–2 North Indian dishes, with the rest being South Indian cuisine. The food is served cold, pre-prepared, and on a self-service basis, which is unacceptable at this price point.
The property is especially unsuitable for senior citizens or anyone with mobility issues, as there is no support or convenience provided. Even when we requested tea/coffee in the room due to elderly guests, we had to walk down to the pantry and inform staff to send it which was equally like picking by ourselves. They even didnt had bread toast for the kids. They said NO BREAD.
Additional issues:
Rooms were not clean
Very low water pressure in the wash basin
No flexibility in food service—if you return late, you go hungry
We made the mistake of booking for 2 nights—this place barely justifies even a 1-night stay.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience and not worth the premium pricing. If you still plan to stay here, be prepared to carry your own food, toiletries, and even tea/coffee supplies—because the service level is closer to a basic hostel than a hotel. Only good part was activities for kids.

Scary, no safety and ill Prepared

I visited Stream Edge Resort on 25th July 2025 with 12 family members including 3 kids, staying in dome rooms (FC1 & FC2). Our experience was frightening due to poor management and lack of safety.
Issues we faced:
Misleading weather info: Owner Sindhu downplayed the ongoing severe cyclonic heavy rain, prioritizing cash payment (not UPI) over guest safety. The manager Sunil, confirmed the dangerous weather prevalent since a month, but no warnings were given, they only wanted us to make the payment before checkin.
Wildlife hazards: We saw a snake near the overflowing stream right after check-in. At 3 AM in the nigh, a snake was found near a family member’s bed, despite keeping the room doors closed. Luckily and with God's grace she only had some rashes where snake's body had touched. No proper first aid or medical help was available—only a muscle pain spray was provided and on request we got a Dettol bottle
Unsafe facilities:
Campfire area was cramped and poorly managed, with hot coal blowing dangerously in strong winds.
Kids’ park was overgrown and unsafe.
Wild dogs and snakes roamed freely due to poor pest control. Room furniture was immovable which also provided snake hiding spots.
Rooms were alarmingly close to a fast-flowing stream during heavy rain.
Recommendations for management:
Prioritize guest safety over profits; close during hazardous weather, especially with children booked.
You can make good money during the non monsoon season. Prioritize your guests health along with your business profits.
Transparently communicate weather risks and advise rescheduling when unsafe.
Stock first aid kits and train staff for emergencies.
Improve pest and wildlife control.
Maintain playgrounds and campfire areas safely.
Use monsoon season for renovations, not hosting guests.
Avoid overstating resort standards if basic safety isn’t ensured.
Stream Edge offers beautiful nature but is unsafe and poorly managed, especially during monsoon. Future guests should think twice before booking here in bad weather.

Pleasant stay away from the city

We went here as it’s pet friendly and wanted to escape the Diwali cracker noise. Served the purpose well. There was almost nil crackers to be heard. There are a few stray dogs on the property but they are friendly though my dog wasn’t too keen on interacting with them. The owner was there and was very kind towards our dog and said we could let her off the leash. However we chose to let her off the leash only when there was no one around. The stream in itself is muddy during the rainy season. Apparently it rains heavily in the monsoon months. It had rained when we went so was muddy. Food is nice. Nothing great but nothing bad either. Service is very good. The people working there are hospitable.
However do not go for the early morning trek/ viewpoint without double checking with them if the view points are actually open.
Note that there is no reception area for check in - everything is taken care of in the dining area. The wooden cottages are nice and large with a nice sit out. They had a camp fire setting for each group in the evening with snacks on pay basis. All in all had a good stay.
