Comfortable and well located on the water's edge of Lake Dal.

Hotel Chachoo Palace is a great alternative to staying on a houseboat. Tucked away on a small canal off Lake Dal it's right on the water's edge and a fantastic place to sit and watch the world paddle by from the garden or hotel balcony. It is also an easy walk to the main boulevard. Rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The team at Chachoo couldn't be more helpful, accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great place & Great People

Stayed with them for eight nights, a nice cosy stay,great location, humble and mannered people who run this place,Mansoor & Family.
Special mention to Ubaid,who was just a call away..
Will recommend to anyone who has plans to stay long in Srinagar.

fantastic place to stay

Stayed here the end of May, beginning of June 19 , spent nearly 3 weeks here. Gulam and Manzoor are two brothers who own this place right on the lake (but in the quiet village area). Gulam oversees the day to day running of the Guest House and is the one of the nicest people I have met. myself and my partner stayed for nearly 3 weeks (this was due to my partner becoming ill into our 2nd week). Gulam ran us around in his Tuk Tuk to the hospital on more than one occasion and made sure Pete (my partner) ate properly and rested. we would not have navigated the local hospital (3times ) without his help. He also helped us with a few other things too. Cooked us amazing breakfast and our evening meals (if requested in the morning), when not feeling well and in need of English comfort food cooked us up mash potato, fried onions and baked beans..yum .
The rooms are spotlessly clean, hot water and TV (but we didn't watch as don't like TV's in rooms) . we had the corner room with two windows, making it nice and cool. we could sit outside and watch the world go by from the shared balcony. It is so quiet and peaceful and both Gulam and Manzoor will come and have a chat with you, and don't be afraid to ask the anything (as we did ) and nothing is too much trouble for these two amazing brothers.
We would not hesitate to recommend staying here, due to the area, quietness and the family

Quiet place by the lake, very nice owner!

We were happy to discover Chachoo Palace.
The place is so serene and the owner so gentle and helpful that we extended our stay from one night to 5 nights!
Room is fine, very clean, and bathroom is with hot water.
Place is closed to restaurants and Shikara's pier

Great short stay

Manzoor and his brother were super friendly and helpful, providing meals and arranging activities for us during our stay. It was also great to listen to their stories about life in Srinagar and to dispel some of the negative stereotypes the media shows about the area. The hotel was in a peaceful location right on the lake and the balcony area was great for relaxing and eating/drinking. We are looking forward to staying again!
