Backwater Resort

Wonderful place, excellent location between beach and backwater. Nice premises, spacious,. Excellent food!!

Helpful kind staff made my stay a success:-)

Attended a Yoga holiday that was arranged here. Staff were lovely and the location is good.
Kitchen and restaurant staff helped cater brilliantly for my gluten free food requirements. Very genuine in their desire to help and I managed to eat so many more local tasty dishes than I’d expected! I was so grateful for the lengths they went to - to keep me safe … many thanks … this was a real bonus for me :-)
Beach just opposite, across a small road, and short tuktuk ride into local town or to the local beach restaurant (which was great and also walkable!)
New pathways recently built at the resort to mitigate the issue of rising sea-water - so this did not affect us fortunately. Very simple accommodation and loo / shower room, with air-con in main room.
Spa area on site and Ayurvedic doctor available for appointments. It was great to have so many Ayurvedic treatments available (different style of massage with lots of oil!) and very kind and experienced staff.

Dated and in need of redecoration.

Staff in restaurant and food was good .
The rooms were drab and dated and in need of redecoration.
The whole resort is rundown and not at all like the photos which were taken many years ago.
There is a stagnant water smell and the rooms were not very clean.
The location and swimming pool were the best feature of this resort.

An experience of a lifetime, not to be missed.

The staff here couldn't be more helpful and friendly. The food was also excellent although not always to my personal taste. The accommodation was what I expected, very charming setting with detached bungalows a nice swimming pool, restaurant and treatment centre. Some of the buildings were fairly run down and the area was battling with the slowly rising sea water. Overhaul a good time was had.

Worst Experience

Dears,
One of the worst team and worst experience communication with the Manager we had recently was with this Cherai Beach Resort. We had booked for 3 nights from 23rd Sep-26th Sep 25 and read about reviews. When we called receptionist and enquired the way the gave reply was if you dont wish cancel it, we just enquired there are mosquitoes read in review can you guys do some spray or not for this the Sales Manager gave reply no and you can cancel it. IS THIS THE WAY THEY SPEAK WITH customers? FINALLY WE CANCELLED IT..
