Must stay

Our stay at Sunset Bay Hotel in Kochi exceeded expectations. The location is ideal, and the room was well-maintained and perfectly situated. It truly felt more like a homestay than a hotel. A special appreciation for the owner aunty—her thoughtfully prepared, healthy breakfasts and her warm, attentive hospitality made us feel completely at home.

A great place to stay

Great value for money
Location is great with access to shops, restaurants, cafes and sightseeing all in walking distance
Hotel was spotless
Staff are friendly and make it a homely place to stay
Breakfast is choice of continental or Kerala options with fresh fruit juice, fresh fruit and tea or coffee
All in all a brilliant stay on a budget

A Homestay in a great location!

Location is perfect. Within walking distance of most sights in Fort Kochi. It's a homestay that is clean, beds comfortable, AC works well, serviced well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just right. Nothing fancy but all good. Choice of dosa, idli, omelette etc. There was an amazing restaurant just next door with divine Kerala cuisine.
However construction work was being undertaken just outside our window and we had to keep the blinds shut. Since we stayed two days and were out sightseeing almost all day, it was tolerable. But we should have been informed about it in advance.
Other than that, the place is value for money.

We thank you very much for your review .And we have noted about your concern on the noise in our neigbouring place due to construction going on there. this is a short time issue and This is beyond our control still we have requested them to take caution as it big disturbance for our guest they also assured to take care of it.

Highly recommend

Everything you need: comfy beds, good shower/WC, good a/c, good wifi. Very friendly helpful staff, and pleasant breakfast. Ground floor rooms look out at blank wall so aim for higher floors with nice views over rooftops. Location is brilliant, 5mns walk to Chinese fishing nets, Vasco da Gama church, etc, lots of local shops and restaurants, and a 10mn 100 rupee tuk-tuk ride to synagogue, Dutch Palace etc on other side of Fort Cochin, or to the Ernakulam ferry port.

Bright and beautiful rooms

The hotel is in a beautiful building in traditional Kerala style. Rooms are simple but bright (at least on the upper floors) and painted in a bright and luminous yellow. They have a mini balcony too. Breakfast is freshly prepared for each client and you can choose between continental and Indian breakfast. The place is on a quiet road and very central, just next to the church. The only downside was that my room was not cleaned even though I stayed for a couple of days.
