Room misinterpretation - Please be careful while booking
I booked this property through Agoda with a confirmed double room room size of 291 sq ft. Upon check-in, I was provided a room that was approximately 156 sq ft, which is nearly 50% smaller than advertised. I raised the concern immediately and was informed that an additional room would require additional payment of 2200 rupees where I had already been charged of rupees 5600. However, there appeared to be inconsistencies in communication regarding what was offered to Agoda team. Due to the material difference in room size, I checked out within 2 hours. A partial refund of 2200 was offered, but the room delivered did not match the contracted booking details. The room is not suited to accomodate three people alongwith an additional bed although they charge so much for it. I recommend future guests reconfirm room dimensions in advance if space is important. This ended up ruining my trip to Varkala. I had planned a special day for my parents and ended up very disappointed.

The room allocated at check-in was exactly the room category reflected in your Agoda reservation.
Our reservation records, property records, and correspondence with Agoda consistently support this.
Exhibit B: The Actual Misunderstanding
The concern raised relates to the measurement of the room area, not the room category allocated.
The room area displayed on the OTA represented the overall room area, including the bedroom, attached washroom, and balcony.
Your review compares only the bedroom’s usable floor space.
These are two different methods of measurement. The room allocated remained exactly the Double Room reflected in your Agoda reservation.
Exhibit C: Hospitality Before the Dispute
Despite the misunderstanding, our priority remained your family’s comfort.
- Complimentary welcome drinks on arrival.
- Complimentary fruit bowls for your parents after their journey.
- Despite having just landed in Mumbai, I personally coordinated with my team throughout the situation to ensure every reasonable solution was explored.
Exhibit D: Every Solution We Offered
Although the correct room had been allocated, but still we voluntarily offered two goodwill solutions to ensure your holiday was not disrupted
Option A-
A ₹2,200 goodwill refund, together with complimentary breakfast, despite your booking being on a Room Only plan.
Option B -
A second, separate room at absolutely no additional charge, with Wave-A-Lokam absorbing the remaining cost on a peak weekend.
Both goodwill solutions were respectfully declined.
Exhibit E: Setting the Record Straight
At no stage did Wave-A-Lokam demand an additional ₹2,200.
The ₹2,200 was voluntarily offered by us as a goodwill refund.
Your Agoda reservation was on a Room Only plan.

Before your arrival, we sent your reservation confirmation and pre-arrival information through Agoda, inviting you to contact us regarding upgrades or any special requirements.

You only enquired related to assistance with visiting Jatayu Earth Centre. No questions were raised regarding room size, room category, breakfast inclusion or accommodation for three adults.
Comfort is subjective and varies from guest to guest. While three adults can technically be accommodated in a Double Room with an extra bed, guests seeking greater space generally prefer our King Room. Had this concern been raised before arrival, we would have gladly recommended the option best suited to your family’s comfort.

After deciding to check out, your family returned from the property’s front gate and obtained and removed the original guest registration form from our manager before leaving the property.

One of the best hotel
My stay at Hotel Wavelokam was an absolute delight! The property is perfectly nestled amidst nature, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and tastefully designed to provide maximum comfort.
