Stay in Shillong (5th to 7th June) in Hotel Barbareek

The Hotel Barbareek is indeed the most budget friendly hotel but great value. The rooms were excellent and comfortable. The staff was so supportive and nice. The restaurant was also nice and you can even order food in room. The location is very nice but very crowd is there so you must walk a little bit as taxis will charge you ₹100 for hotel to police baazar which is just 700-800 km so location is a bit problem. The food in restaurant was also tasty and home style & hygenic. The bathrooms in rooms were quite clean and nice. A fan was provided in our rooms. Great room service was there they cleaned our room nicely when we went for sightseeing. You can surely trust without any difficulty if you want a comfortable and great stay in Shillong. The price of room (in Agoda) is approx ₹2700 for 1 night and in Shillong no hotel is indeed less than ₹2500 so it is very budget friendly with great valeu. I will surely recommend you to Hotel Barbareek Inn, Shillong

WARNING!!! UNSAFE HOTEL FOR TOURIST.

WORST HOTEL EVER. SCAMMER. THE MANAGER IS A CON . I even planned to file an FIR against the Manager and hotel.
The room was dirty so I went to reception to raise the concern. THEY threatened me to delete the pictures.
Being Me a Solo traveller had the worst hotel experience ever.

Don’t visit this property truely bad

I never suggest this hotel as I have stayed there for several days location is truely bad entrance truly poor as well as no car can go there if any car will go up then every time for every car you have to pay 100₹ as parking. Secondly the wifi not work properly, the restaurant is purely veg( it depends the vegetarian can enjoy it ), thirdly there rooms are too small I have upgraded the room because it was too small which has been offered, fourthly the staffs are not too cooperative, fifthly don’t go for with breakfast they have only 3/4 items limited. I think it’s over budget as there place and also veg foods are too expensive.

Biggest mistake of my life

We arrived at hotel late evening and it took the reception to give us a pre booked room (advance) in more than 30 minutes. The room was suffocated without any windows and smelling like a dumpster. Bedsheet had red stains and washroom was smelly, dirty and very unhygienic. To add to our misery, the flush wasn't working. When asked if there was an alternate option, we were told extremely high prices for a more or less similar (read pathetic) but bigger claustrophobic room. When asked at the reception to at least fix the flush, the receptionist was rude and pretended to be busy. If rude and yelling had a hospitable face, it was of the receptionist.
PS - They offer a free breakfast for 5 star rating. LOL

Worst Place to Stay

Pathetick location middle of a very dirty meat market, no lift, shabby smelling rooms, staffs are unprofessional, dirty towels and bed sheets, plannd to stay for 3 nights but had to leave 2nd day, charged 2500 for single room not even worth of paying 800/- buks, couple, family do not consider as option
