We follow a lean, self-service and no-frills hospitality model to keep stays affordable, with select amenities available on a pay-as-you-use basis. Alcohol, drugs, misconduct, non-payment, theft, vandalism or policy violations will lead to immediate eviction without refund and possible permanent blacklisting. Outside food is strictly prohibited inside the hostel premises. Our cafe serves vegetarian food with self-service culture and operates 8 AM–2 PM and 6 PM–11 PM (timings may vary) Smoking is allowed only in designated smoking zones within the premises. For group bookings of 2+ guests, same-dorm accommodation is not guaranteed as room allocation is automated and subject to availability. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability. Visitors are allowed only in common areas between 9 AM and 9 PM and are not permitted inside rooms. Female dorms are strictly for female guests only. Local IDs are accepted. No parking is available at the property, but is available 700 meters from the property (paid). The Hosteller is a backpacker hostel chain suited for young travellers, and does not permit guests below 18 years of age, even with legal guardians. The property is pet friendly, and we allow pets only in private rooms (not dorms). Any damages are attributable to the pet owners. Nestled close to Mall Road, The Hosteller Shimla is accessible only by foot as no tourist vehicles are allowed, offering an intimate escape from the hustle and bustle. Park your car at the paid parking zone near The Lift in Shimla and get ready for a scenic 15-minute uphill trek to reach us.
