Right near Dal Lake, a cozy home Stay, Lakshmi Guest house
This is a quaint house offering a very cozy, homly experience. Location, being walking distance to Dal Lake is a huge plus given all the traffic on the Dal lake road. Rooms are spacious offer clean bathroom, dressing room and firm bed. The caretaker, Kuldeep Kumar is attentive and helpful to order food from outside. Breakfast is served in the morning and consists of Break toast, Eggs, tea/ coffee and on request Alu Parathas.
Despite being in the prime area in Srinagar, the home Stay comes at an extremely affordable price.
Highly recommend for families and couples.

Great Value for Money: Soulful Retreat with an Awesome Location, Sprawling Gardens , Great Food and Excellent Service!
Our stay at Lakshmi Guest House (LGH) , Srinagar, made us feel grateful to Life for most of our stay there in May 2023. Let's start with the awesome location - its a 3 minute walk from the Dal Lake, and a 3 minute walk to the base of the Shankaracharya Hill. So early morning strolls along the Boulevard were so natural and easy. We also trekked up the Shankracharya Hill to the gorgeous Shiva Temple, and the adjacent ancient cave in which Adi Shankaracharya meditated!
The view from our room overlooking the sprawling gardens was lovely. The most attractive part of LGH is the spacious garden. We sat out for tea and snacks often, amidst the riot of flowers that bloom in May.
Master Chef Sagar Haldar made some great bespoke for us. The service team under the leadership of the Manger, Kuldeep Thakur , looked after us well. We were also happy to get good parking for our vehicle, and practical guidance on tours and treks.
Overall, it was a soulful time. The vibes of the Heritage Hotel LGH were excellent. It felt more like a soulful homely retreat centre rather than a Hotel.
I would strongly recommend the place. It is great Value for Money!!

Excellent place to stay
Stayed about a week in Laxmi Guest house along with my family from 22/5/2022 to 29/5/2022 Very well maintained guest house

Old world style, charming bungalow stay in Srinagar
We stayed in this property in Aug 2019. It was a family stay and we had booked 3 rooms.
The property is around 35-40min drive from the airport. It lies at one end of the Dal Lake (which is a 2min walk from the property).
The building is an old G+2 storey bungalow like structure - old world charm, brick-like structure with sloping roofs and an attic.
The owner has a separate bungalow in the same premises. There is a very nice, pretty and well-maintained garden on the back-side with apple trees (laden with the fruit in August) as well as other vegetables / fruits like brinjal, cucumber, tomato, chillies, maize, pomegranate etc.
The property is in a lane behind the main road, so it is very quiet. The taxi stand is a minutes walk from the property.
There is a Dhaba just a few steps outside the property to the left and a restaurant at the Dal Lake road (appx 5min walk from the property). There are also couple of provision stores next to the Dhaba.
We stayed on the 1st floor. The rooms are carpeted, neat and clean, The bathroom too is spacious and clean. All the bathrooms have a functioning water heater. There is an old box TV in each of the rooms, with cable connection.
The manager of the property, Mr. Girdhari is a wonderful person, ever smiling, extremely affable, helpful and informative.
We were provided with standing fans on request (without any extra cost).
We were also allowed to pluck apples off the tree and eat them. They have a working kitchen too.
We really enjoyed our blissful stay in this property. I would stay again at this property on my next visits to Srinagar.

A homestay with history
This guesthouse is more of a homestay. I was traveling with my 1 year old daughter so my prime concern was cleanliness, little kitchen help and comfort. Lakshmi guesthouse excelled in all the criterias.
The location is excellent with dal lake, food joints, shops at a walking distance. Parking is available as well.
The staff was extremely helpful with timely breakfasts and minor needs for my kid.
The owners stay close by. Infact the guesthouse was their home for many a years. It has a beautiful history and warmth in its corners. I loved our comfortable stay at this homestay.
The location is excellent with dal lake, food joints, shops at a walking distance. Parking is available as well.
