Friendly staff, great bed and sleep

This hotel was a landmark in my travels for two important reasons, 1. The bed on which I slept. I did not get such a homely feeling in the room as I did when I was here. 2. The friendly staff. They even cooked "curd rice" the way I wanted it. Best part, my auto guy took me to two hotels before he got me here. It was very kind of him particularly when my train to Gaya was late by 2 hours. In fact it was late by 3 hours that day. When I went back to my hotel they didn't have any rooms as it was full. I went to this hotel with a big headache but the sleep completely refreshed me. I had so much energy I couldn't believe myself and woke up the same way at 2:00 AM the next day, after the night's rest. I took note of the mattress and got one just yesterday (Peps, Restonic, Pocket Spring, Carousel) and I got the same kind of sleep last night as I did on June 28'th at the Hotel. The waking up early there even helped me make a second visit to the Kashinath Mandir and the Vaarahi temple, the latter which is open for just an hour in the early morning, everyday. Another two pluses were - 1. The Advaita Ashram (Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Vivekananda) nearby at a walkable distance and the adjoining bookstore (Sundays are closed though). 2. The manager got me in touch with a Silk Saree maker from whom I even purchased one. But I'll give full points to the friendliness of the service though the rooms may not be top class. Bathroom and toilet were clean though.

Nothing International about JK International, Laksa Road, Varanasi

Rooms are musty. No ventilation. Bath Room Bed, Beddings in bad condition. Even lighting is poor. No dining. Just not recommendable. What to talk of international standards not even local nominal standards.

expensive but not worthy

Door not well maintained, bathroom handle is broken, and if u pull door and closr it,you will have problem opening from inside, and need to ask one from outside to pull down. GAP at the both edges of the bed makimg uncomfotable to sleep. Also gaps of bed head is not cleaned, accompanied with cobwebs and dust.
At this price its not worthy.

Kashi Vaishwanath Temple- Varanasi

One of the poor hotel stay of my life!
The hotel is on the busy street about 1.25 Kms from the main Kashi Vishwanath Temple. It is a budget hotel though their charges are like any mid segment hotel.
Some of our known booked the hotel for us for one night during out religious trip to Kashi Vaishwanath temple. At the first place we did not like the hotel at all as it seems to be a very dated and deserted hotel with poor amenities. The hotel room was available for Rs. 900/- for one night online through many online booking portals. We were very surprised to know that the same was booked for us for Rs. 2200/- for one night ( without breakfast). When we told the same to the front desk hotel staff he probably did not liked our argument and start behaving in a rude manner. Since, it was booked by one of our friend and we never wanted to tell our disliking about the hotel, we somehow thought of staying in the hotel for one night. Next day ( check out day) we left the hotel early in the morning around 7:30 am for the temple darshan and to visit other attractions of the city. We packed our luggage in the room and wanted to meet somebody at the reception to handover the keys but there was nobody available at the hotel reception at that point of time. Since we were getting late for the temple we left the hotel for temple darshan and for Sarnath. We thought of returning back to the hotel in the afternoon around check out time but due to the heavy rush and traffic in the city on that rainy day somehow we managed to return to the hotel around 2:30 pm.
It was really very surprising the we receive numerous calls(5-6) from the hotel and from our friend who has arranged this hotel for us from 12:30 pm till the time we returned back to the hotel. Due to this, we had to leave out Sarnath trip in between and we rushed to the hotel but due to the rains and heavy city traffic it took us more than 2 hrs. to come back to hotel around 2:30 pm. Upon reaching there the hotel manager Mr. Dharminder Kumar Tiwari told us to vacate the room immediately. We immediately vacated the hotel room and deposited our luggage at the reception and gone for our lunch at the nearby place. While returning back after and hour and half, we sat at the reception for about and hour as our sleeper bus to Delhi was at 7:00 pm. We have asked the hotel staff about the bus pickup point and the distance from the hotel, which was around 4-5 Kms. Finally we have decided to leave for the bus pickup point at 5:00 pm from the hotel reception though our bus timing was at 7:00 pm ( we reached there around 5:30 pm)
At out utmost surprise, at the time of leaving the hotel the Hotel Manager Mr. Dharminder Kumar Tiwari asked us to pay Rs. 1000/- extra as half day room rent as we were late by around two hours from the check out timing of the hotel. We resisted and told him that this is not a fare practice and moreover we have also informed you that we are getting late due to rains and heavy city traffic. He was not ready to listen to anything from us but was insisting to pay the extra amount and started misbehaving. Finally he compelled us to pay the extra amount inspite of the fact that the other person from the hotel staff was with our side. We paid Rs. 3200/- for one night for a third grade kind of hotel which was available for Rs.900/- online.
Please avoid staying in the hotel or otherwise be ready to pay their unreasonable demands and spoil your mood, you can find more good hotel options near the temple with good amenities and at good price.
Also, please book your Online Temple Darshan/Pooja Tickets 2 days in advance.
