Dirty, full of bugs and not worth the money

The room had black mould on the walls, the bathroom smells strongly of mould and the room was very dirty. The bathroom has no fly screen and the room was full of mosquitos, spiders and ants! I had ants over most of my toiletries. I didn’t read the reviewed before booking- don’t make the same mistake!

Up and Coming

We stayed here for a week to see the opening ceremony of the 2018 Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang Beach. Located about a 20 minute walk from Padang Padang and easy walking to a few restaurants in the area, there also is a small market located right behind the property. Currently there is only four rooms while another four are being built. The grounds are new and still under construction, there was a large hole ready for a pool. Upon arrival we had to call the number for the family to have someone come by and give us the key since there is no reception. The rooms are large and quite. The king bed was two full sized beds pushed together. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and good water pressure.
The family running the homestay was very nice and it seems like they are just getting into the homestay business. They do offer scooter rentals if needed.
The downside for us was the amount of mosquitoes, it seemed like there were hundreds of them. We did purchase some bug spray at the local market that did the trick for less than 1 USD. Kind of fun activity to kill all those bugs if you have nothing to do.
Overall nice place to stay if you are on a budget, will be excited to see what they turn the place into after they put in the pool!
