More about Amanjiwo

Amanjiwo

Amanjiwo Resorts is one hour drive from Yogykarta airport and a picturesque two-hour drive from Solo Airport. Located at the base of the Menoreh Hills in the Kedu Plain of Central Java, Amanjiwo is ten minutes from the Buddhist monument of Borobudur. All are suites, which encircle the main building and offer both interior and exterior living areas. Entry to each suite is by sliding glass door that provides a light filled living and sleeping area. The king size bed is positioned in the centre of the suite beneath the high ceiling and doomed rooftop. Facilities include a writing desk, occasional table and chairs, chaise lounge, safety deposit box, and cabinet containing music system and Private Bar. The bathroom has twin vanities, a dressing area, shower, and leads to a small courtyard revealing an outdoor sunken bath. The Dining Room looks out onto the crescent-shaped Terrace, with its banquette seating, brass tables, teak-wood chairs and Yogya batik cushions. The view from the Terrace is particularly arresting at dawn and twilight, or after the cleansing rain, when the world of Java clears, revealing more than the rice fields of the Kedu Plain. Borobodur is directly ahead. The Resort rests amongst verdant terraced rice fields and coconut, clove and citrus groves with mountain streams bordering the property on two sides. The architecture of Amanjiwo draws from the history, tradition and culture of Central Java, widely recognised as the birthplace of modern day culture found throughout Indonesia. The main public building is circular in design and rises to a domed centrepiece. The arrival Porte Cochere is flanked by the Lobby, Library, Shop and Gallery and leads to the Bar that overlooks the Dining Room. Stepping down to the lower level reveals panoramic views of the sweeping plains to Borobudur and onto Mount Sumbing. Amanjiwo is located in Central Java, the cultural heartland of Java and modern Indonesia. The rich tradition and ancient culture are revealed as guests have the opportunity to experience the breathtaking nature beauty of rural Java, temples and arts that date back to the 8th and 9th centuries. Amanjiwo's suites and walkways of paras stone are rewarded with breathtaking and magical views of one of the world's most cultural and ancient historic sites. Room not ready

A hotel with a great atmosphere, overall meeting Aman standards. I really wanted to give it five stars because it exceeded my expectations in many ways. However, at the standard check-in time of 2 p.m., the room was still not ready — something I did not expect to happen at an Aman hotel, which was disappointing, especially since we arrived before 10 a.m. and had already informed the hotel of our flight details. Moreover, we saw many guests who arrived much later than us gradually being checked into their rooms, which made us very uncomfortable. (Yes I know there are different room types, and I trust that the hotel did not do this on purpose, but it was still hard not to feel that we were being treated differently.)
Also here every staff member is trained to remember our itinerary. This is very nice, but they seemed to lack internal communication. We received reminders from four different staff members giving us a different departure times for an activity, which left us very confused.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback and for choosing to stay with us at Amanjiwo.
We are truly delighted to know that you enjoyed the atmosphere of our resort and that so many aspects of your stay exceeded your expectations. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by the delay in preparing your room on your arrival day.
We fully understand how frustrating it must have been, particularly after your early arrival and having shared your flight details with us in advance. While room readiness can occasionally be affected by operational circumstances and varying departure times of the previous guests, we recognize that this should not have impacted your arrival experience. We are also sorry that the sequence of room allocations gave the impression that other guests were being prioritized. Please be assured that this was never our intention, and we regret the discomfort this caused.
We also appreciate you bringing the inconsistency in our team's communication regarding your activity schedule to our attention. Receiving different departure times from several team members understandably created confusion and fell short of the seamless experience we strive to deliver. Your feedback has been shared with our team as an important learning opportunity to strengthen our internal coordination and ensure clearer communication going forward.
Thank you once again for your honest and constructive comments. They are invaluable in helping us improve, and we sincerely hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Amanjiwo, where we can provide the flawless experience that you rightfully expected.
Warm regards,
Melisa Audhi

A real alman. A little paradise

Very nice hotel
Very well maintained, with very nice pavilions very well oriented to see the temple of Borobudur
The decoration is that of an almond, elegant and locally inspired.
Service is outstanding, meals are very good and the menu is very varied.
Evening gifts are always as friendly and with a touch of craftsmanship and local.
The experiences offered are also very well organized and the guides very pleasant.
We could have been disturbed by the sound of calls to prayer but the place is so serene that we no longer pay attention.
Maybe just one small point ... we saw many members of the Aman team but this is the first time we did not meet the manager of the establishment who was there but never came to meet the customers .. it is a shame.
