Excellent private villa
A real hidden gem in Sanur. Beautiful private villas with own pool. Delicious breakfast delivered every morning. The staff are very welcoming and accomodating to anything you need. Its in a quiet part of Sanur with not much around, but gojek car to go anyway in Sanur is really cheap. Loved ourxstay and highly recommend

**Please read before booking this place, it's not as advertised**
We are not ones to complain, usually we cop things on the chin and write them off but this ruined the second half of our holiday, we want to warn others. The manager provides hush money for the multiple complaints she receives.
We booked a five-night stay at The Mavila Private Villas expecting the peaceful, relaxing holiday that was advertised. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived.
After checking in and paying for our accommodation, we were informed that three private teenage parties were scheduled to be hosted on their outdoor area directly in front of the villas, during our five-night stay. The restaurant would also be unavailable during those nights. None of this was communicated to us before arrival.
The villa itself was also disappointing and appeared outdated and poorly maintained. There were clumps of hair on the floor, dirty mirrors, rusty and filthy bathroom lights, a rusty towel hook inside the shower, and our room key was stuck in the door, meaning we couldn’t properly lock the room.
Later that evening, a 17th birthday party began. The PA system was incredibly loud, with speeches, music, screaming and general noise continuing to the point where we couldn’t hear the television, even with every door and window closed. This was completely inconsistent with the advertised peaceful and quiet villa experience.
We contacted staff and explained that this was not what we had expected from a private villa and that we wanted to leave. Management initially offered a free spa treatment, followed by dinner at the restaurant. However, how could we enjoy a relaxing spa treatment with the unbearable noise? And the restaurant was closed for three nights because of the parties.
We eventually booked alternative accommodation. Before leaving, management offered us a 50% refund, provided we did not leave a bad review. We accepted and provided our bank details, as requested, so the agreed refund could be transferred.
After arriving at our new accommodation, we were then told the refund would only be paid in cash, in IDR, and that we had to return to the property 5 days later on 28 August at 10am which is the day we were flying home and were to sign a disclaimer agreeing not to leave a negative review. We were effectively being asked to make another trip and then deal with converting the cash back into AUD. We advised this is the day we fly out and no other alternative was offered. It was cash or nothing, which was basically hush money. The manager refused to transfer the money as originally agreed, they even had our bank details.
We found this extremely unprofessional. We feel the 50% refund was more than fair, considering we still lost money and had the inconvenience and expense of finding alternative accommodation.
We feel very bad for their lovely and welcoming front of staff, they have to deal with those complaints all night and are constantly apologising to guests.
We paid good money to stay here, as equally as the party guests did too but that doesn't make it right and management does not care. It is advertised as a quiet and peaceful villa - believe us, it is NOT.

Nice villa, but events every night were a negative
It is a very nice villa in a good location, but will need transport to get to the beach. The private pool is great, breakfast was good and clean rooms. The only issue is they had an event on in the garden area every night, with PA speakers and loud music. We weren’t told of these events when we booked, so a little annoying. But we went out for dinner and came back later. For people wanting a relaxing quiet night at the villa, it’s not for you……

Amazing experience. Staffs were so friend my and accommodating. Highly recommended! Location was great too. Not to mention the prices were reasonable.

Marvellous Mavila Sanur
The villas are indoor/outdoors without a roof over the pool. I wasn’t expecting a pool in the middle of our room, but it was an absolute blessing/luxury in the 30 degree plus temperatures during our stay. The bed was as comfortable as any I have slept on, we had free wifi, air con, Netflix, complimentary yummy breakfast and the friendliest staff. The beach, shopping centre etc., was a taxi ride away and we had the loveliest stay.
