Nice hotel with usual Bali

Bali-nuanced hotel. The rooms provided are highly recommended as clean, the service is also very good and friendly.
There's a swimming pool that makes anyone staying more comfortable. With view sunset in the afternoon. Location is close to campus activity in Malang city.

For Malang, it is a worthwhile overnight accommodation with a reasonable price and a few minor flaws that can, however, be overcome.

Once a really spacious and architecturally generous complex built in Balinese style with lots of greenery. Unfortunately, it has now become a bit old. Small things that are noticeable should be repaired, but are not a problem.
The breakfast is plentiful, the staff very polite and helpful. Unfortunately, there is no lunch or dinner, only coffee and drinks with a snack are offered. We therefore recommend the nearby inexpensive restaurants, which are particularly popular with students.
The air conditioning works, but is hardly adjustable. Some rooms have damp, cold air. It is sometimes not possible to get hot water for showering. The rooms are very spacious, as is the bathroom.
Several pools invite you to swim. There are no bathrobes.
The prices are by no means excessive.
If you take a look at the river that borders the hotel, however, you will know what the environmental efforts are like: rubbish everywhere, and above all plastic.

Bad experience

2 days checkin using 2 different OTA vouchers. The first day of checking in at the old building, when I checked in the room there were no towels, the toilet amenities were incomplete (no soap), I wanted to borrow a spoon, the information would be confirmed at the restaurant first, but I waited a long time, there was no confirmation and the spoon was not delivered, the receptionist didn't 24 hours

We were very skeptical when booking and thought it was almost impossible that a hotel had so many bad reviews; we wanted to form our own opinion. It was honestly the worst experience in terms of price-performance ratio that we have ever had, and that too in Indonesia. (Juniper Suite Classic Room) It started at check-in with arrogant and unfriendly staff. During our stay we didn't experience any Indonesian friendliness, quite the opposite. On arrival: nobody asked us if we needed help carrying our suitcases, they just handed us the room card and said goodbye. We had no idea where/how/what. (There was never a layout plan or explanation of what to find where) Our room was right at the bottom, we had to walk down extremely steep stairs with 25kg suitcases each and we were afraid that the stairs would collapse. The complex looks very deserted, cold and unfriendly, a half-finished construction site, rusty wires everywhere, etc. Then when we got to the room we saw what many people have described here: dirty towels and bed linen. There was dried body fluid everywhere, just disgusting. We reported it immediately, everything was replaced but no apology came and the "new" duvets/bath towels were only a little better, but still dirty and stained. The next day we just wanted to sleep in, at 6 a.m. a large stereo system was set up right outside our room and loud music was turned on, children were playing in the pool. We were literally ripped out of bed at 6 a.m., we thought we were in the middle of a festival. I don't even want to say anything about the breakfast, rancid butter, soggy toast and only Asian food.
There were no pool towels, they told us to take ours out of the room... I wonder what the point of having 2 huge pools if they can't even provide towels. I could write a lot more but it's pointless. I would definitely never book anything here again, you can really save yourself the money. We also had the feeling the whole time that Europeans are not welcome.
