Spacious Sumaryo Hotel. Yogyakarta....

Spacious, very clean rooms & surroundings, no hot water but no big problem, very comfortable beds & friendly staff.. Terrific A.C., & Fan plus free Wifi with good connections... Anyone on a budget should appreciate this hotel, also endless thermos of hot boiled water, sugar, tea for hot drinks plus a jug of cold water... Cost per night was Rupiah 175,000 approx. AUD$17- also has a swimming pool but we never used it... Great form of transport at front being the Becaks & very cheap.. Stayed here many times over 30 years & would recommend to anyone on a budget...

No lux hotel

First little bit shocked. but at last I liked it! Fun at the pool, water is clean. Maybe they renovate the bathroom and take care with more "love". Cheap and ok. No 5 star hotel!some people said dirty in the room its not true... Just old style yes and i love it...
At the end have to do something more nice for bathroom is better choice....because little bit not work for the shower.....

basic, but nice and friendly accomodation

nice place, friendly staff, quiet. good location.
not that clean, but well worth the money you pay for rather spacious rooms with air con and fan.
nice corridor with good seats.
swimming pool is big and ok, although not clean.

Lovely hotel and helpful staff

We arrived without previous booking. We were checked in quickly. The rooms are cheap and basic.the common area is nice and the pool is ok.
The staff always helped us out with anything we needed. For example hiring motorbikes.
They were very easy and friendly. For the price it was really good value.

Not particularly nice

We needed somewhere to stay for my wife's Indonesian family - nine of us. The Sumaryo is the only place we could find in Prawirotaman that let us pack loads of people into two rooms. Personally I wouldn't have chosen this place had it been just the usual four of us travelling. Incredibly basic and not particularly nice. Cold showers and blocked toilets. Dirty/cloudy swimming pool. Old beds. As a previous review said - 'a complete dive' is quite accurate. On the plus side, it is cheap and conveniently located near many bars and restaurants, and only about 20,000rp in a taxi to Jalan Malioboro. The Indonesian side of the family were quite happy there.
