An island of calm in a troubled city.

I stayed there during some hard times for the city with a number of car bombs going off in distant areas during my stay. The hotel is staffed by amazing people who just want to do a great job in a city in conflict. They came from all walks of life having lost there original places of working to shell damage etc. The rooms were remarkably clean. The restaurant cooked great local dishes.. normal rules apply for conflict zones - do not drink the tap water or eat anything that has not been cooked and don't ask for ice in your drinks(tap water). there is plenty of bottled water but make sure it's you that opens it - great local scam in recycling water bottles with tap water. In no circumstances go anywhere without a local guide/fixer/interpreter but only supplied by whoever you are working for or the hotel. If you get a chance the view from the roof is amazing and sometimes they have a couple of local traders selling handmade souvenirs there. Possibly the safest of the hotels that welcomes westerners...

Average accomodation

Unfortunately the pics are outdated. The rooms are still neat but obviously need an upgrade. The breakfast was very basic . Access to the hotel is also a little difficult as we battled to get taxi drivers to actually take us there. They advised that it was not in a good location. I would class it as a 3 star probably.

the Rimal Hotel

The Hotel facilities and room cleanness are good
The Hotel Single Restaurant is good especially for Lunch, I don't recommended it for Dinner.
The Area where the hotel is located is so so noisy it is really hard to sleep in that hotel rooms
They management of the hotel mentioned in Hotel amenities section the Bar, the Room Services, and Parking . . . Forget about the Both . . . there are no Bar and the Room Services are limited to specific hours of the daytime only. . . Finally there are no place to park the car

Worth for money

I am regular visitor to Baghdad for business in Oil & Gas. Though I tried few other hotels Rimal is the very best and value for money. Rooms are decent in this war ridden country and city. I also found it is located in safe area so far. The restaurants serve variety of foods and they very well understand Vegetarian requirement. Overall my experience is Very Good.
