Stay out of time

Timeless house, 10 minutes from Londonderry in a park that must have been beautiful. It’s in his juice but it has a crazy charm! Here, the rabbits frolic in front of the porch at dusk, the 2 guns watch your car, and the living room welcomes you with its chandelier and large fireplace.

A wonderful experience

A truly wonderful stay with my fiancee. The welcome was as warm as you can get - thank you Tony, Anne and Amelia for your wonderful hospitality. We stayed in the beautiful and spacious bridal suite (loved the bath!) and enjoyed walking through the lovey gardens. Very handy for going swimming in the Atlantic, some great hikes and visiting Derry. Although we live in the US, we are seriously thinking about having our wedding here. It would be perfect and worth the journey.

Perfect setting for night before and morning of wedding!

I had the pleasure of staying in Dunmore Gardens the night before my wedding with my bridal party! Amelia was so helpful & accomodating to us all and meet me early into the wedding planning to assist in making my vision a reality. Dunmore gardens is a spectacular setting, the accomodation was perfect for this special occasion and the beautifully grand decor made for stunning photos.
The morning of wedding was relaxed, emotional and busy and most importantly it was stress free with Amelia's help. We greatly appreciated the freshly brewed coffee at 6am!!! Both Makeup artist and hair dresser had space to join us and set up.
Breakfast was lovely, very wholesome and tasty!
I would highly recommend Dunmore Gardens for that extra special occasion!

Amazing Oasis

I enjoyed two nights here recently and from the moment I drove into the grounds I knew there was something special about this wonderful place. The sight of the Georgian house opening up before me as I emerged from the tree-lined drive almost took my breath away, then the welcome I received was genuine and heartfelt - the owner was away when I arrived but her absolutely charming grandmother showed me to my room and explained everything to me. The room was huge, clean and had fabulous views of the gardens and beyond, and the en suite bathroom was a dream - it didn't have a walk-in shower but that didn't bother me too much. Breakfast was sensational, with beautifully cooked food, everything one could wish for. I met Amelia the owner on my second night and a more genuine and welcoming hostess could hardly be found. A perfect oasis of calm for me on a business trip. Full marks - I shall return!

A JOURNEY BACK IN TIME

This was an amazing experience and a journey back in time to 1725 when Dunmore Gardens was first built, complete with gardens, courtyards and all the trappings of the 'big house'.
Alisha was very welcoming and showed us to this amazing bedroom with windows on three walls giving us a beautiful vista of the surrounding landscape. Down below on the front lawn we could see a red squirrel hanging on by its tail and stealing nuts from the bird feeder. In the front field we had a clear view of some of the biggest Irish hares we have ever seen running and dashing between two horses. In the distance we could see activity in the working farm as crops were being sowed. There were birds everywhere and for those interested there were large illustrated books all over the place to find out more about this amazing encounter with nature at its best.
Breakfast was served in the drawing room fresh fruit and orange juice, porridge or cereals and a healthy fry comprising poached eggs, bacon, tomato and grilled bacon and sausage on thick slices of a special kind of bread full of nature's healthiest ingredients. O Yes, there was home baked bread and jam made from fruits collected from the gardens.
The gardens are amazing and as good as any in a National Trust property and for those with green fingers this must be the experience of a lifetime. The gardener has been there for 60 years and there is a collection box for his local church! There are sundials and many other relics from the 1930's according to the dates still visible. There is even a stone summer seat on the front lawn, cannons reminding us of al bygone age and modern lawnmowers discreetly stored away.
This was far more than a B & B; it was an experience, a trip back in time and memories which we will cherish until we find an excuse to come back again.
Tea and coffee pots were silver as was the cutlery and again Alisha was ready to answer any questions but not imposing and only appearing when needed. She is the granddaughter of the previous owner and it is clear that she intends to create a Renaissance of the glory days in this part of Donegal where quaint little villages abound.
