We only went for one night. As we were attending a funeral on August 24th . So we checked at bout 1900pm on 23rd of August. From the lady at check in to the lady at dinner in the restaurant they were very thoughtful to us about our situation. They gave us advice bout where we were going and the place of the funeral . All the staff including the young lady at breakfast were so pleasant and helpful and it makes a big difference especially when we were travelling with to autistic boys. So I'd recommend this clayton hotel. If i ever go back to cork it would be the first place I'd book

Staff great room

I felt the staff was wonderful especially Stephen. Stephen was very welcoming always friendly and greeted you with a smile. I felt the room was not clean you have a refresh service but they did little as possible. Nothing was wiped down there was crumbs in the chair from day one and was not from us. I told staff a few times and took 3 days to be cleaned. The tub is very deep and my husband put the mat in so nobody slipped it was all
Moldy and all
Over the tub disgusting!

Disappointing Stay – Not What You’d Expect From a 4-Star Hotel

Disappointing for a 4-star hotel
Unfortunately, our stay at Clayton Hotel Silver Springs was disappointing and certainly didn't feel like the standard I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The hotel itself feels tired and dated in places and is badly in need of refurbishment. The rooms and corridors in particular give the impression of a hotel that has seen better days. The room was also extremely warm and uncomfortable, which made getting a good night's sleep difficult.
Service was inconsistent. While some members of staff were pleasant and helpful, overall the experience felt disorganised and certainly not what I would expect considering the price being charged.
Another disappointment is the leisure facilities. You might assume from the advertising that the hotel has the usual leisure facilities associated with a 4-star hotel, but the swimming pool/leisure centre is actually separate from the main hotel.
Overall, the biggest issue is value for money. When you're paying 4-star hotel prices, you expect the accommodation, facilities and service to reflect that. Unfortunately, on this occasion they simply didn't.
There are some good staff working here and the hotel clearly has potential, but it badly needs investment and updating. Based on our experience, I couldn't justify giving it more than 2 stars.

Really nice hotel for our family trip to Cork

We stayed with our teenaged son in a family suite which had a superking sized bed on one side of the room, sitting area and TV in the middle and two single beds on the other side, and a large family bathroom with bath and shower. The size of the room meant that we had our own space and didn’t feel hemmed in, which was important for our son. The bathroom had Rituals toiletries (no hair conditioner, so be sure to take that).
I would say that the hotel is a little tired in some parts and needs some money spending on it, but that’s not the fault of the staff who were all absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for us.
The breakfast room is lovely with a brilliant choice of food. The lady in charge is truly lovely and a pleasure to be around.
We ate our evening meal at the hotel both nights and the food was good, as was the service. I was disappointed that neither of the dishes that I ordered ended up being available on the first night. As a vegetarian, there is obviously going to be less choice, and I’m used to that, so I had the other dish which was noodles. It was very nice. The reason given for some dishes not being available was that it was the bank holiday weekend and things had sold out. We were assured that they would be available on the Tuesday when they had restocked. It was disappointing on the second evening that the aubergine dish still wasn’t available. I didn’t fancy the noodles for a second night, and was offered a margarita pizza. I do think if you’re going to offer two veggie main courses, you need to make sure they’re available. I was also charged 17.80 euros for a gin and tonic which is the most I’ve ever paid for one! I didn’t get a second one……
We tried the pool on the second day which is 10 minutes walk up a very steep hill. We were advised to drive and were very glad that we did! The fitness centre included a decent 25m pool, large sauna and steam room which were lovely and a gym. We paid 15 euros for a family of three and we really enjoyed it.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel. The staff are so nice and we enjoyed our stay here. It’s very handy for Cork, although it’s a short drive into the city.
