Great hotel in Clonakitty, Iteland

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at O'Donovan's Hotel in Clonakilty. This wonderful family-owned hotel is over 200 years old and full of charm, character, and history. The O'Donovan family made us feel incredibly welcome, and it was clear that they take great pride in both the hotel and their town.
The location could not be better—right in the heart of Clonakilty and within walking distance of numerous restaurants, pubs, shops, and local attractions. It was the perfect base for exploring the area while enjoying the convenience of staying in town.
The hotel restaurant was excellent, and the traditional Irish breakfast included each morning was a fantastic way to start the day. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, helpful, and always eager to assist.
Our room had a large, comfortable bed and provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Two other families traveling with us had larger rooms accommodating three and four people, and they said the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and perfect for their needs.
If you're visiting West Cork and want a comfortable, historic hotel with exceptional hospitality and a prime location, we highly recommend O'Donovan's Hotel. We would gladly stay there again.

Shocking experience

Where do I even start…. I came in for a bite to eat with a friend on a quiet Thursday. Ordered the boiled bacon and veg. And the rice pudding for my friend. The bacon was cut thinner than an A4 page of paper. The veg was crumbly and dry and somehow still slimy. Mash had hard bits inside of it. And got to wash it all down with a Luke warm glass of coke. My friends rice pudding was completely flavourless. I get the place is supposed to be old timey. But that doesn’t mean you don’t clean the place. Absolute kip. Dirt everywhere. Do NOT recommend. Won’t be returning any time soon.

I spent 5 nights here over 2 weeks and I really enjoyed a relaxing time every evening after work. The food was great.
