Disappointing
Foyer and restaurants nicely decorated.
Staff friendly.
Stayed 1 night, spacious king room. Modern shower room. Very low sink with ceiling height mirror which is definitely very awkward for cleaning.
Room temp 26.5, stifling and no way of lowering the heat made for an uncomfotable night.
Bed and pillows very hard.
Ate is bar restaurant. Hit & miss. Salmon dish good. Steaks very tough and sinewy. When mentioned this staff offered free desert which was kind but would just have preferred better quality meat.
Breakfast was not a great experience.
Good selection of fresh fruits and cereals. Make your own tea, coffee and toast. Coffee machine makes 12 oz cappuchino in a small cup/mug so constant waste of contents.
Fried food unacceptable standard. All done in deep fat except the bacon which was tasty. Overcooked and greasy sausages and pudding. The boxty was disgraceful, deep fried and inedible. A good local product ruined.
€294 for b&b, overpriced, but if room could be cooled and food quality improved no objection to paying high price.

Not great
I ordered the lamb stew and the nicest part of it was the mash, the lamb was pale and seemed to be cut from a roast joint instead of seared in a pan, the broth was very watery and there was broccoli in the stew which I've never seen before.
I was never given a spoon and when I was going to ask for one to finish my meal I was asked if I was finished? I had had enough at that point and just said yes. I was thinking the English group across from me were being served better but then when they asked for a dish with a sauce on the side they were told while the waitress was walking off "I will see if its possible" but the way it was said was as if it was a huge inconvenience just for a side of sauce.
I came back for a pint after my business was finished, the Guinness was nice and my service was quick but a gentleman beside me was complaining he had been standing there for 5 minutes before being served and was then asked abruptly and without an apology "what do you want?"
I will say the night porter was helpful in the morning with directions to the meeting room.

Breakfast was a bit disorganised and took a long time to place an order. Had the full Irish but quality wasn’t great.
