Good hotel with outstanding breakfast

Stayed for one night whilst exploring the region, the hotel is on the outskirts of the town with a large carpark outside, but within comfortable walking distance of the sights of Donegal (the castle, railway museum, abbey etc.). Check-in was simple, and the room was a good size, clean and nicely decorated, plenty of sockets by the bed and good Wi-Fi; no aircon but there was a fan for the occasional hot Irish day. The quiet location and comfortable bed gave a good night’s sleep. Good hot shower.
Breakfast was served at the Blas Bistro in the main part of the hotel and was excellent, lovely room, friendly staff, good sized portions and delicious, makes me regret not staying for lunch! Worth mentioning that it’s closed in the evenings, but there are plenty of other places in the town.

The Flagstaff Inn is more like an upmarket motel than a hotel. Room was quite small, but clean. No tissues in the room. Breakfast was additional EUR25 but very good. Short work into town.

The Wonderful Gateway Lodge

Everything! The property was beautiful from the outside to the inside. Our room was brilliant - super spacious king bed and single, beautiful decor, super clean looked newly decorated. The ensuite was large, modern and so clean. All of the staff very really friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant was also furnished beautifully and we had a lovely lunch and breakfast. The location of the property cannot be beaten. Everything was fantastic!

Had issues with toilet running but receptionist moved us to another room. It was cold in the room the evening we checked in and the next morning before heat came on. Close to town.

Excellent hotel 5 minutes walk from centre of Donegal town. Plenty parking, welcoming staff, comfortable, clean rooms and the best freshly cooked breakfast you could hope for with super friendly staff. Some rooms accessed from an external walkway motel style which may not be everyone’s choice but it’s still quiet and comfortable. Would certainly stay again.
