Three rooms for family - Excellent

Our family had three adjoining rooms and we had a lovely experience. Staff are excellent. Breakfast was really great. Library bar is lovely. Fitness facilities are really good.

Room for improvements.

We enjoyed 2 nights here midweek. Evening meals on both nights were very good. The outside area was very nice for drinks, and pizzas were excellent. However, depending on your tipple, you might have to walk indoors to fetch your drink. And then you might have to wait in a queue as there’s only one barperson. Moreover, they do not serve West Coast Cooler at all. Nor do they stock crisps.
The issues with this hotel are the decor. It is so outdated. Our bedroom looked like something from the 1970’s with ugly furniture and a tiny bathroom. The breakfast room is similarly stuck in the 1970’s. Money has obviously been spent on the exterior and the garden bar/pizza area, plus padel courts, but maybe it’s time to do something inside. The hotel appears to be very popular with locals but it’s the customers staying over who are spending their money - time to look after them.
One more thing. On one of our nights a very noisy, demanding child was in the bar with his parents from 9.30 to 10.30. If you can have adult only times in the swimming pool why not in the bar also???

The overall experience was very positive. The staff were highly professional, and the hotel’s location was excellent. One area for improvement would be modernizing the rooms.

My stay at the Fitzpatrick

even though the Fitzpatrick is off the beaten path it was easy to navigate to Dublin and everywhere else we needed to get to. It’s nestled away from all the noise and hubbub with the ocean being a short walk away so you could experience peace & quiet as well as all the city had to offer.

Go to The Terrace & The Library

Plan on staying on premises in residential section of Dalkey. 4 pubs, 2 restaurants, all good. The Terrace wood-fired pizza, a winner! No real grounds for walking. Water view from certain rooms, but not walking distance to harbor. Tennis & pickleball, main attractions.
