Extremely disappointed in the Dean

We attended a family wedding at The Dean Hotel Dublin we stayed in the hotel for 2 nights Friday 13th and Saturday 14th February. We found the staff were very friendly but that’s where it ended.
Our daughters shared one room and my husband and I the other. On Saturday morning our daughters realised the sheet on which they slept on was stained. On notifying reception they were told they would have the linen changed which they did.
Our room however was very disappointing to say the least. The carpet was dirty, the hand basin was badly stained and the tap in the bathroom was loose. On moving a table lamp a piece of wooden art fell off the wall ( photos included).the screws were far too small and there were no plugs in the wall to hold it in place.
When we booked our stay our breakfast was included in the price we went to the restaurant on the 5th floor on Saturday morning we were met by a waiter who informed us of what we were allowed to have ( 1 juice, 1 mains and 1 tea or coffee).
When checking out on Sunday morning we raised these issues with the receptionist whose response was the hotel was 10 years old and was due to close for renovations. In other words what should we expect !!!!
What we did expect was a clean room at the very least. We will NOT be returning to the Dean any time soon.
Extremely disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay. I appreciate your recognition of our friendly team, and I am glad that our staff were able to promptly address the linen issue brought to their attention.
I regret to read of the shortcomings you experienced in your rooms, and your disappointment with the breakfast offering and the manner in which your concerns were addressed upon departure. Please accept my apologies for any discomfort or inconvenience you encountered during your stay and rest assured they have been passed onto the appropriate parties to improve.
Your comments are invaluable to us as we are committed to maintaining high standards, and your observations will assist us as we continuously review and improve our facilities and services especially during the many renovations happening all around the property at the moment.
We truly value your feedback and hope you might consider allowing us the opportunity to provide a more positive experience in the future.
Best,
Mikey

Great staff, really helpful. We stayed in the townhouse and our room was beautiful but tiny. You could barely move round the bed and there was nowhere to store clothes (just 4 hangers on the wall and no drawers) or bags. It’s a good location for the city centre but incredibly noisy at night - you hear everything from the street. Make sure to get a room at the back of the building. Also, the bar there was not open so you always have to go to the main building. Gym is great, lots of equipment and very clean, but the pool is very hot!

Booked a room to come over from Wales to watch Olivia Dean
I asked the hotel if it was possible for an early check in, they told me that they would let me know. We got to the hotel around 1ish they gave us a room but it was right next to the club which is next door. You might aswell be on the club grounds. We politely asked to change and if it was possible that we could check into another. We were told they would ring us when a room was ready, so we went for a walk. We were absolutely exhausted and needed a rest and to get ready, so we headed back to the hotel in the hope they would ring us when we were on our way. We arrived and we asked the girl behind the desk if the room was ready, she forgot to ring us as she was too busy chatting to her friends when we arrived.
We were then told that the restaurant or breakfast room wasn't open for a few days as it was under refurbishment. We were not told this when booking even though we paid the full asking price.
Breakfast was a couple of plates with mini Danish pastries and a bowl of fruit!! VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Especially for the price what we paid.
We were not even asked if we had a nice stay otherwise I would have said all this at checkout
We left disappointed and probably won't return

Terrible breakfast

For a room rate of €250 for one night the breakfast was appalling! Granola, fruit, yogurt and stale toast and pastries. Very limited and no cooked option. Won't be back!

Hi Neil - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding while we have been completing extensive renovation works across the restaurant and much of the hotel.
We're sorry to hear that our complimentary breakfast offering did not meet your expectations. While we understand it wasn't to your taste, we value your comments and will take them on board as we continue to enhance our guest experience.
We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity in the future. Our newly refreshed rooms and upgraded facilities are now nearing completion, and we would be delighted to welcome you back. Please feel free to contact us directly should you wish to stay again, and we'll do everything we can to ensure a much more enjoyable visit.
All the best,
