Great location

Great location, very clean with a very good breakfast. We had dinner one evening and it was excellent. Staff are all friendly and helpful. The room was a little dark with just one small window looking out onto the back of a shabby building. Otherwise the room was very quiet with a comfortable bed.

Terrible customer service

Went for Coffee and desert with my family and have to say the Lady who served us was rude and most unhelpful. She was foreign sounding and we also heard her swearing at other staff members. Never seen or heard anything like her.
Been to the Imperial Hotel many times and was shocked that they could hire such staff.

Breakfast

Went to galway today. Went to this hotel for breakfast at around 10.45am. They charged 15 euro each. We helped ourself to cereal but when we went to get breakfast it was closed. The staff member did eventually get us slapped up cold breakfast. No apology. Won't be going back there.

Central location with zero frills

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is dark but centrally located. The bedroom doors bang really hard when closed, so we woke a few times during the night and early morning with a fright! It would be an easy fix for the hotel to look at this and fix some form of softener.
My biggest issue was with the overly staffed breakfast area. There were approx 8 staff members walking up and down the pretty small dining area. We felt like we were sitting in the middle of a busy corridor. There was no need for the staff to be walking up and down looking at tables to see if people were finished the breakfast. We felt rushed!
At 10.30am sharp, the hot food counter is shut and everything is packed away. The hotel advertises breakfast being served until 10.30am, so ensure you are down well before then as you won't even get a top up of juice after that time!
Overall our stay was OK - you're paying for the central location and thankfully it is clean, but don't expect much more than that.

2 night stag weekend

Nice hotel - very central - 12 of us for a stag weekend - rooms a little basic but very clean - a bit pricey for a twin room - only had the breakfast which was pretty good
