A Gem

We stayed here last Friday. What a gem. Just a walk to the Heather Restaurant. Erica, lady in charge was very friendly and ensured we had everything we need. Plenty of parking apartments were spotless, comfortable beds. No noise, lovely gardens. I would highly recommend this accommodation

Walking holiday in the Wicklow Mountains

My sister and I travelled from Australia and stayed for two nights at Heather House. We had such a lovely stay. Erica was incredibly warm and welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. Our room was beautiful, and the house and surrounding area were absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommend Heather House and would happily stay again if we ever find ourselves back in this part of Ireland. A special thank you to Erica for making our stay so enjoyable.

Beautiful stay

Heather House was an absolute delight. The ambience is warm and welcoming. I slept so well. What really elevated the stay was the manager, Erica—she was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring without ever being overbearing. Everything felt personal and well looked after

Worst guest house experience in Ireland

We had a reservation for a Double Room “inside the main house (accessed via the front door).” When we arrived at 6pm, we were taken to a Private Apartment. This space was not what we reserved: it was separate from the guest house, was hot inside with only one operable window, and was facing the parking lot/road. When we said that we booked a room in the guest house, we were told that our room was given to someone else who did not like their room (presumably, this horrible apartment), and that since we were the last to arrive we are stuck with the room that no one wanted. Even though the guest house and apartments are two totally different price points, and despite our booking many month in advance, our room was given away and we were downgraded with no apology or compensation. I have never had this happen before in all my years traveling.
The room was stifling, but when we asked for a fan we were told guests were not allowed to have fans. We had to leave the door open to the street so that air could get into the room, which meant passersby would look into our room. At night we closed the door, but also had to close the window most of the way because it opened onto the street and we didn't want to give a stranger access into our room. Needless to say, we didn't sleep at all given the heat and the street noise. This reservation was a total waste of our money - $200, and breakfast was not included.
I absolutely cannot recommend Heather House. We stayed at 14 different accommodations during our visit to Ireland - Airbnbs, hotels, bed and breakfasts, guest houses - and Heather House was the worst experience we had. I have never been treated so poorly as a paying customer. Lastly, I responded to the automatic survey by the guest house and I also emailed the owner directly, but never received a response.

Awesome sauce

Very nice reception, super positive and friendly. Good quality, no noise, close to groceries/resteraunts, nice shower (power washer, it was very nice), good toilet.
