A very centrally located B&B
Very central b&b to all pubs, restaurants & other amenities. Live music was fabulous. Breakfast was delicious. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Gone down hill
Dissatisfied when I arrived I ordered a G&T and no lemon.In the morning for full Irish asked for mustard and told none available. Cleanliness excellent. Room very cramped, with two beds,we only needed one. Television positioned over head of bed which was totally wrong. Missing Angela's special touch big time.

Avoid like the plague.
In all my years of travelling I’ve never had such a terrible experience in a B&B
Let’s start from the start shall we…
Firstly demanding full payment on arrival is always a red flag….but that’s how we were greeted.
We were shown to room 10 - a double room - that barely fitted two people, thankfully we only had weekend baggage otherwise if you had suitcases you’d be leaving them in the car.
We went to the bar for a drink…it closed at 8:30 - we weren’t give a reason why.
The following morning we were awoken at 07:00 to the noise of an industrial extractor fan from the kitchen outside the window, I asked could we be moved but I was told the hotel was full….there goes our sleep so (the extractor fan runs all day from 07:00 till 22:00 - enjoy the rest of the night everyone!)
So next we have The Manageress…..who thinks it’s fine to shout at customers and staff alike…let’s dig in to this one shall we.
1) At Breakfast the first morning after it was pointed out the bread was extremely mouldy took offence and snapped at me.
2) One of our fellow guests was shouted at for moving cutlery and cups to facilitate us to sit with them because the room was “laid out” - it’s a breakfast room/glorified greasy spoon cafe not exactly silver service.
3) A picture fell off the wall and hit my wife and sister on the head while we were eating (it was hung up with gaffer tape!) and whilst the young girl on duty that morning was apologetic we heard nothing from the Manageress…..we laughed about it but what if a picture falls off the wall and hits a child or a.baby??
4) On check out day the weather was terrible and my brother (he’s in his seventies) stuck his head in while closing his umbrella - he too was shouted at from across the room to “TAKE THE UMBRELLA OUT” - he left immediately, embarrassed as was the rest of the guests attempting to have their breakfast. - she continued to shout at me and my family that “I HAVE TO GET KEYS OFF YOU” as if to insinuate we’d leave with them.
It’s at that stage I confronted her and she went full on defensive to the extent that she called me aggressive so we all left.
I barely got a chance to tell her that the pre cooked breakfasts are inedible,That I was covered in dust and hit by a sander from their decorator who was painting the outside of the B&B (who decorates the forefront of a venue at high season??) and leaving the entire fuse board for the venue exposed is extremely dangerous.
It’s a shame because the other staff Paudie, Jacinta and Grace are absolutely lovely…..but if you’re looking to stay here??…. €420 for three nights??…..here’s some advice ,sleep in the car you’ll be far better off.

Worst B & B Experience
We must have got the worst room in the house , Manager said it was last room. Room with double bed and a single bed ..there were only 2 of us ..the room was cramped...2 many lockers , no access to wardrobe due to bed position . Old tiles in bathroom in badly need of a scrub on the grout , poor lighting in the bathroom and with a toilet that your legs would have to be sideways if another person came in .. shower cubicle could do with update . Hot and Cold taps in wrong position. Could not pick up any wifi in the room. With a little tender care and imagination room could be improved a lot.. I enjoyed my scrambled egg and bacon for breakie ...my partner who cooks his frys regularly said his was only fair. We would not recommend or rebook ...for €140 for one night there are far superior places in Skibereen.

Despicable Customer Service
Cancelled my booking just 1.5 days before our New Years Eve trip for a close friends wedding, leaving us with nowhere to stay and slim chances of getting something on such a busy night at such short notice. Cited priority for booking.com customers - I had booked on the phone months before.
