Super Service

Staying while I did Holy Land trip and they were so accomadating to everyone in our group of 25 plus. Beds were soft and bar upstairs allowed relaxing on down time, whether you drank or no. Location was great for large bus and guide to pick up. Good sheppard travel took care of all things perfectly.

If the hotel were closer to the city center, I would certainly have given it a higher rating.

I visited Israel this summer by a package tour, so this hotel in Nazareth was also chosen by the organization. I guess the reason for choosing it was good value for money, or because the other hotels were full-up.
I write this because the main one - or maybe the only one? - flaw of this hotel is its location. Located at the top of the amphitheater of steep hills surrounding Nazareth, it enjoys a panoramic position, but is very uncomfortable for visiting the city; unless you are resigned to using the taxi both outward and return.
We chose the taxi to get back, while we went down to the city center on foot. But the pedestrian path isn't pleasant, along narrow, steep and busy streets.
Having said that, the hotel itself is appreciable both for the quality of the rooms and common areas, both for the breakfast, and for the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. If it were closer to the city center, I would certainly have given it a higher rating.

We cancelled booking because owner was dishonest.

We booked long time in advance for christmas. 6 weeks before christmas fastive dinner cost 180 ILS, 4 weeks later the price rose to 250, 6 days befor our arrival they charged 300 and a day later they aske for 330. Our friends that called the same day were asked for 350 ILS.
They refused credit card payment claiming that they have a problem with the machine and asked that we will oay cash. I think IRS wouldlove them for that.
they also were quite veuge as to exact room and made us suspect that suite (we ordered) was the same as a regular room in all aspects except price.
this was a deal breaker. We cancelled our booking and spnt our money at a place that was honest and straigt forward.

Nice Hotel

This is a locally owned hotel overlooking the city of Nazareth. There are picturesque views of the city and of the Church of the Annunciation. It is a quaint place with many real good qualities. Very nice rooms, private showers, and good maid service. The food is exceptional. There is a buffet breakfast and dinner. Delicious food with a wonderful variety. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Location is a plus. Very close to many to the sites one would enjoy visiting. Very nice stay. Higly recommend St. Gabriels.

Inside hotel is not as expected as outside!

The lounge and the breakfast room are very standard design and ornament. The breakfast food is really basic which is not a good taste in my opinion. But, the coffee is nice and aromatic. The room is not clean, a bit smelly with old equipment in it. TV is not working at all. Air conditioning is not cool enough so we didn't have good sleep quality. The aisle in our area and in reception area are smell cigarette smoke which is not good for our breathing especially for our baby breathing
. Moreover, the inside hotel is not as expected as outside. But, the outlook hotel building is nice and since the hotel is in the higher level, so we can see nice panorama of Nazareth city from this hotel. Overall, I am not strong recommending this hotel for staying, unless, it is really difficult to find the hotel in Nazareth due to fully book.
