A place that stays in your heart
The historic structure is fascinating, imposing but at the same time welcoming. It has an ancient character that you perceive immediately, in a harmonious way: it integrates perfectly with the landscape of the Conero, almost as if it were embracing the sea and the nature that surround it.
The garden by the sea was love at first sight for me. Cared for in the details, green, fragrant, with glimpses that take your breath away. It is the type of place where you find yourself slowing down without realizing it, looking at the horizon, enjoying the silence. The natural pool, then, is a little jewel: clear water, relaxing atmosphere, a sense of well-being that restores you.
The sea of Portonovo is something you do not forget. Transparent, alive, with those colors that change during the day and that make you want to stay there, without thinking about anything else. Having the Fortino so close to the beach is a privilege: you really feel inside the nature of the Conero, not just a spectator.
The rooms deserve a special mention: very clean, tidy, with attention to detail. You can see that there is attention, that nothing is left to chance. The rooms are welcoming and elegant, with that feeling of comfort that makes you feel at ease immediately. It is pleasant to return to the room and find everything perfect, fresh, arranged with care.
Lunch at the bistro in the garden by the sea is very relaxing: immersed in the greenery, with the sea right in front, you experience a break that conveys an authentic sense of well-being. The tranquility of the garden, the light, the breeze, and the kindness of the staff create a simple but truly pleasant moment, one of those that make the day special.
The restaurant deserves a special mention. I found well-prepared dishes, very fresh fish, authentic flavors presented with elegance. The service is impeccable: professional, attentive, never intrusive. You can perceive the care, the passion, the desire to provide a complete experience.
The terrace overlooking the sea is the ideal place for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere is evocative, with soft lighting and the scent of the sea accompanying the evening. It is one of those settings where everything seems harmonious, natural, perfectly in line with what one expects from such a special place.
At sunset, the Fortino takes on a special light: its historic walls are tinged with warm, almost golden tones, and the entire structure seems to become even more evocative. It is a moment when the Fortino changes its face, lighting up with a different, more intense beauty that makes the atmosphere even more engaging and memorable.
Overall, the Fortino Napoleonico is a successful balance of history, nature, elegance, and tranquility. It is not just a stay: it is an experience that remains, a place that one remembers with pleasure and that one wants to recommend because it knows how to offer truly unique moments.
I will definitely return, because it is one of those places that stay in your heart.

Very disappointed
The welcome is polite but there is little explanation of how the room or the hotel works. The staff is present, but not service-oriented.
Every situation gives the impression that the priority is internal logistics, never the guest: terrace closed at breakfast, lighting turned off while guests are still outside, (9:30 PM)...
A stay where you feel more tolerated than welcomed.
Extremely disappointing breakfast and, above all, no view of the sea even though the outdoor restaurant area is free!
We had a suite with a separate room for our daughter, but the partition does not go all the way to the top, so it is pointless.
The rooms don't have views, we knew that, but there aren't many places where you can enjoy the view in the end either. The few lounge chairs on the seaside are taken very quickly.
And the Wi-Fi is very bad and cuts out constantly.

Good but could be better
It's a shame because it was supposed to be memorable for us, but it was just normal.
