Excellent hospitality, facilaties and location.

An excellent place to stay close to the lake. Very good breakfast and rooms are spacious and well laid out. Close to restaurants and staff are incredibly helpful and hospitable.

great staff and locale, but breakfast seriously lacking

I spent 4 nights in a room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and spacious enough, but a bit tired. Furniture showed its age. My biggest grip was the breakfast. Not a single vegetable to be seen. I'd expect at least tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers. The only bread was packaged slices. But glad to find yogurt and bio muesli. Cafe on one end of the street and a bakery on the other end, so there are alternatives. Some really good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Birthday on the lake

Very nice hotel, with that air of the past that I like so much, in a village with a wonderful Rock and a lake. We were assigned a nice room with terrace with open views, spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast with great choice of granola and wheat. We must mention the girls at reception extremely available and very nice. Bye-bye!

A wonderful week in Angera

My son had business to Milan and asked if I wanted to come with him for a week's stay.
IF I wanted !
We booked a flight from Landwetter, Gothenburg on June 28.
Since we desired a quiet environment at a good price by one of the lakes in the north we looked up hotels at Angera on the eastern side of Lago Maggiore where we found HOTEL DEI TIGLI. From the first contact we felt that this was the right accommodation for us and immediately booked two rooms. We were offered help with booking a taxi from the airport (Malpensa) to the hotel and then back again for our return in Sweden. Not cheap but very convenient and fast.
THE HOTEL is centrally located in Angera with walking distance to the beach, restaurants and the ferry lines for Arona or the Borromean Islands and it is nice taking a walk to the town's major attraction, Rocca di Angera, a medieval castle, containing a large doll- and toy museum.
Good bus/train connections to nearby towns.
THE ROOMS were fresh with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, and very comfortable beds. Cleaning was done every day by friendly and professional staff.
BREAKFAST. We are not particularly hungry in the morning, and the breakfast here more than met our needs. There was, for example yogurt, juice, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bread, butter, cheese, cake, lots of fresh fruit and of course coffee. Here too, friendly staff and we felt we could enjoy breakfast without any stress.
THE THREE GIRLS AT THE RECEPTION were incredibly friendly and helpful. They really did EVERYTHING to make us feel comfortable and had answers to all our questions.
For me, who love animals, it was also cozy to meow a bit with the hotel cat Luna, even though she was quite difficult to flirt with at times.
We are SO happy with our stay at Hotel Dei Tigli and can highly recommend it.

To be redone

Great welcome, kindness, good breakfast but some renovation in the rooms and in the hotel in general would be worth considering. Great location. Visited the Rocca di Angera and we recommend visiting it to all those who will be passing through those parts.
