The unexpected Liguria
In a location out of time, in the first hinterland of Imperia (a tiny village, tenaciously perched around the banks of the Maro stream, with very narrow alleys that quickly and steeply transform into woods, a quiet and shaded main street, and a small paved square, also sloping, which in the evening transforms into a living room where one can dine in company), there is more than just a relais; it is a small jewel, where the skillful and attentive management of a close-knit group of women ensures love and care for every detail. Meticulously furnished rooms that smell good, homemade cookies left on the tidied bed in the morning, charming hidden sitting areas where one can converse or read a good book (even that is available for guests), small terraces on the roofs, a handwritten chalkboard every morning with suggestions for the day or pearls of wisdom to inspire, but the true gem is the wonderful flowered and secluded terrace, equipped with a small pool with a whirlpool area, where one can spend lazy sunny and quiet afternoons, lulled by the bubbling of the stream with its ponds and small waterfalls, by the chirping of swallows, by the flight of butterflies, and, after sunset, by the loud croaking of frogs.
Everything invites tranquility and slowness, marked by fixed and essential moments, starting with the sumptuous breakfast in the morning (with a buffet that, in terms of variety and quality, has nothing to envy to renowned 5 stars!), moving on to the light lunch with a wide selection of local specialties, and ending with the delightful tea time at 5 PM, with the possibility of adding a pre-dinner aperitif. Everything is more than well taken care of in the details, in the dishes with an antique flavor, in the good grandmother's service, in the monogrammed and starched tablecloths, in the ample availability of written information to make the most of the area; one feels pampered from the very first moment!
Completing the offer, according to our personal experience, is the full availability of all the staff to try to meet every request from guests, the excellent knowledge of foreign languages (mostly international clientele) of the service staff, the wonderful welcome even towards small dogs or larger ones that will find a bed, bowl, and cookies available in the room, and at the reception/on the terrace, always a petting or a scratch to accompany them.
Finally, a special mention for the quality of nighttime rest, thanks to the silence, the slow rhythms, the quality of the mattress and pillows, and perhaps also to the lack of cell phone signal (but the wifi works perfectly everywhere, so connectivity is safe!); I haven't had such sleeps in a long time!

The Ligurian Paradise!
What about this Paradise? Everything is there to spend a great time relaxing. Our getaway was a magical weekend filled with happiness.
From the contact by courier with Silvia we felt the professionalism of the person and his desire to satisfy us. The reception, the suite, the Tea Time, the garden, the pool, breakfast and lunch all are perfect neat and chosen in every detail to please guests. Silvia even booked us the restaurant for dinner and it was a very good choice.
Thank you “Ladies” for this super well maintained establishment where everything is done with one goal to please the holidaymakers and make them have a good time. Breakfast and Lunch products sound local and chosen for their excellent qualities. A Home away from Home!
Since some time we’ve discovered the small paradise of Relais del Maro at very charming Borgomaro.
We’ve visited now for a few years and some times a few times a year! We’re lucky enough to live at only 2h1/2 drive in France and every time we’ve a change we speed up towards Borgomaro!
But It seems to us one of the most friendly places we know of and we are colleges Hoteliers who know this business for many years now!
Elena, Martina, Sylvie, Viola, Nina and Joy, and the housekeeping staff have been so enormously well taken care of us every time we come « home ». And for all the years we come they’re all there with no changes. That’s a perfect sign! All small details are well thought about. Elena provides booklets with
information for hikes, touring the area, a great restaurants hide, local crafts companies as well as, excellent wine producers, olive oil, cheeses and lots more! You find in her small homemade booklets, at the front desk, enough information so you want to stay for a year to discover all of the local beautiful things, or you come back very frequently!
Animals are more than welcome as in no other place in the world, they get their own bed , little bowl and some nice cookies upon arrival!
Afternoon tea is great as well as the aperitif and for lunch you better stay at the beautiful setting of the Relais!
Breakfast is a buffet you’ve never seen before with everything you need and more, lots of very creative items you’ve never had before at any place! Local products (from 0 km)
You will soon feel home like us that you can’t wait to go back….and stay much longer!

Extraordinary
Hostel at the entrance of the village. The river passes at its feet. Olive forest in postcard. The charming Welcoming of Martina puts us at ease right away as if we were at home. The smell , the glow of the candles takes us to our room according to the description and well soundproofed. The garden is a real place of relaxation. Breakfast is homemade with quality organic products. This is a real change of scenery. Thank you ladies for making us dream in a weekend.

What a dream!
We are used to a bit but when we came to drive into the small village Borgomare we fell silent. What a beautiful picture and in the middle of that village lies this gem run with love and attention. We had a beautiful suite and our children a beautiful room. Every day we were met with a cheerful Bon Giorno and went to the excellent breakfast. Nothing is too much Service here with a very big S! This is what you call coming home. We hope to come back here again and immerse ourselves again and this lovely hotel! Oh yes....hole absolutely eat on the square at Etta then it is completely complete.
