Great stay at the hotel captains
Breakfast varied enough for our 4 day period. Dinner at the derby hotel maybe the only drawback but still it was a short walk of 8 min to cover the distance.
Friendly and helpful staff, Daniele gave us great directions for culinary purchases in the village.
Great for anyone NOT looking for luxury and good value for money.

Old and dangerous
ROOM: Upon my arrival, the room was presented in decidedly unhygienic conditions: the sheets were visibly dirty and gave the impression of not having been changed (see attached photos). Also, the overall cleanliness of the room left much to be desired: dust everywhere, floors covered with dirty carpet, so much so that we had to clean everything ourselves with alcohol. We've had our room changed to a cleaner one luckily. The bathroom dates back to the 80s with taps without a mixer and therefore comes out hot on one side and cold on the other.
As if that wasn't enough, the legs of the bed were broken (see photos), a detail that is not only unacceptable in terms of comfort, but also represents a potential safety risk for both me with my baby and my parents.
From the property we were never expressed a displeasure for the inconvenience.
UNFORESEEN: During my stay, I was stuck in the elevator with my little girl due to the malfunction of the 'system that was visibly old, noisy and obsolete (also confirmed by the elevator technician arrived to repair it). An episode that caused great fear and discomfort since the firemen had to intervene to get us out.
A broken elevator in a family-friendly facility is a serious safety issue, not just a disservice. It is unthinkable that in such a central hotel with 4 floors of rooms it will not be replaced with a more modern and safe one (I read reviews of even 7 months ago that spoke of the same poor condition).
***We were not even apologized by the owner for the unexpected break of the elevator, not so much for me but for the little girl who was with me inside. We were offered a bottle of wine instead, useless, we would have preferred some human empathy.***
I absolutely do not recommend this property: if they are not able to guarantee even the safety of their guests, it is better to avoid, until these serious problems are solved. Obviously the cleanliness should be totally reviewed and improved.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!
We had to stay for a getaway to the spa on the night of the 15th, on the 13th evening I received a message telling me that I would be moved to the DERBY without even having asked me (their other hotel together with the NATIONAL); I replied saying not to accept because the location of that hotel was not convenient to me, but they do not answer since then. The next day I call Booking and through them I can confirm my initial booking at the hotel Capitani. On the 15th morning at 11:30 I step to warn that I would arrive for check in at 20.00 ... while I am about to enter I am blocked on the door by an employee who apostrophes me with a “she where is she going” ... as if I were a thief! To my answer that I had a reservation he tells me that I have to go to the Derby...I try to explain that it was not so and I go in while he shouts at me that “I could pull out anything I wanted but the hotel was CLOSED, CLOSEDOOOO”.
And actually, from what I noticed in the lobby the hotel seemed really closed. The “kind” employee hands me the Derby receptionist on the phone who confirms my overnight stay at the captain and that his “colleague” did not know everything! He didn’t know everything but the truth was and he told me!!!
At that point, however, given the treatment, we were no longer quiet and we call Booking who tries until 3 pm to contact the hotel unnecessarily until I clearly come to my conclusion that the hotel was closed and proceeded to cancel the reservation and refund the full amount IMMEDIATELY!
And by magic the lady who for 48 hours had not deigned to reply to my messages or those of Booking , wakes up and writes me a very aggressive email, saying that I was the rude one to her employee and that I had stopped by before opening hours (WHAT?!?)
Do not do as I do, look at ALL the reviews and you will realize how many times people have been moved against their will and how many times those who have been to the Capitani have had the cold room, no hot water and poor breakfast. Since I passed by the night and the next day and everything was more than closed, I wonder what they would have done? Would they open a room just for me? Which of you would like to stay in a closed hotel?
SO YOU WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A HOTEL IN BORMIO, MY PASSIONATE ADVICE, DO NOT TAKE THIS!
