Friendly and welcoming personal service

This was a well hidden gem. It may seem that you sat nav is taking you down some random and quite narrow streets but what you find at the end of this mystery tour is an oasis of calm in the quite little town of Boscoreale.
The hotel is well placed for exploring the local sites such as Vesuvius (20-30 mins), Pompeii (10-15 mins) and Herculaneum (20 mins).
The service we received at this little family run hotel was fantastic. Upon arrival we were offered a refreshment before we were even shown our room. After depositing bags we made arrangements for our evening meal later that day. On our return after a long days site seeing we were presented with a proper Italian feast made by the proprietors wife. Following our meal we relaxed in the hotels private garden with local wine and the proprietors own Limoncello made from the lemons that grow in the very garden we were sitting in. Breakfast was set up in the lemon / rose grove and as another treat we were served up jams made by the proprietors wife. I would definitely recommend the rose petal jam, made from the antique rose varieties of Pompeii. It was so special I brought a pot home with me.
We were well looked after by the proprietor and his wife. The proprietor was happy to share his story and the history of the house, which by the way dates back to the 1600's and was once a summer retreat of the Napoli, Bourbon family.
Can't reccomend the Villa Silvana enough.

Definition of a gem...and close to Pompeii

You cannot find a gem in a crowded market or on a super-commercial path. So is Villa Silvana. Hidden somewhere in Boscoreale (never heard of it before), with some very narrow paths (cannot call them roads), lying behind some non-attractive buildings. But one you crossed the big iron gates, you find yourself in a XVII courtyard, with beautiful lemon arches, cooling fountain and an impressive pine-tree. All, backed by a friendly family (from the grand parents to the 4y old son). One who goes there has to try the home-made limoncello (served super cold by the grandfather) and the pies and rose/lemon/orange jam of Mrs Silvana. Super clean rooms and court. Our 3y old enjoyed a lot the garden and the company of the owners (grand)son.
Maybe the breakfast could host more varieties (e.g. Eggs, vegetables, even more local fruits). But this I understood might be taken care of in the near future.
Also the villa is very close to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Napoli, Sorrento, Castellamare di Stabia (with a nice sea promenade) and at just 5-10m drive there is a very nice (black) sandy beach and shallow shore (ideal for small children), at Terra Annunziata.
Grazie mille.

A saving grace

What can I say about this villa other than 'WOW' This tiny crown jewel tucked away in the outskirts of Naples is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The staff, which is a family run business, is the most accommodating, friendly and helpful that we have come across. The breakfasts, which have the best fruit pies made buy 'Mama' in the kitchen were to die for and the fresh fruit and flowers were all from the beautiful garden. Nothing was too much trouble and we even added an extra nights stay because we loved it so much.
Can't recommend this place enough and will be visiting again.

A palace where you will be treated like royalty

Villa Silvana is an amazing discovery in the suburbs of Naples. The owners are very welcoming and generous with their home made wines. The accommodation is first class, very romantic and utterly beautiful.
The owner delights in telling guests about his roses and lemons which are unusual and very interesting.
We stayed here in September and should have reviewed this luxurious palace with its reasonable price tag ages ago as it is well worth the visit. We'd go again to Naples just to visit this lovely place.

Little haven

Little haven in the midst of Boscoreale, closely locate to the Pompeii ruins. 18th century villa turned into a boutique hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms with a haute couture bathroom. Worth it just for the experience.
