Apartment in a good location and clean, very nice owner.

We stayed ten days in the Rudi apartment and we really enjoyed it. Mr. Hoffer very helpful and kind, also for information regarding activities to do in Brixen gave us directions, maps and great advice. The apartment is very comfortable, is equipped with everything you need (dishwasher, hairdryer, etc.) and is clean. The view offered by the apartment is really beautiful as well as being located in a good location, about 20 min walk from the center but with the means (which pass about every 10 minutes even) you can reach it in 4/5 minutes. With the brixen card offered by the apartment you can do so many things, in addition to being able to take the transport for free, you can also go to the Plose cable car, an experience worth doing. Overall I would absolutely recommend this apartment!

Easy check-in, good location, adequate facilities. Very pleasant and very affable landlord who shares his extensive experience, and thus has tips for unforgettable excursions. We would love to come back!!

Relaxed, cozy, affordable. Could easily qualify for 4 stars.

Really neat, cozy and non-pretentious spot. It combines the great things about Italian and Austrian hotels: Austrian hospitality and robust building that is warm in winter and cool in summer with bidet in the bathroom.
There is safe storages for bikes.
The hosts are very welcoming and friendly.
We got a Reisebett (baby bed) for our daughter which was really nice of the owners.
The only thing is that you’d do well to bring your own shampoo since this is generally not something you get in a residence.

Nice place, nice owner!

We had originally booked a near by Airbnb, but before we were to leave we were contacted and told that they had a reservation problem, and they had booked us here. At first I assumed that we would be put in a worse place, but it turned out to be fine. Mainly, it worked well for us because of Karl. He was very helpful in providing information about places to hike as well as shop and eat. He is very friendly. My husband even sat in with his music group one night.
I was confused as to which unit we were getting. He said Nora, but when I clicked on the site the apartment that came up was very large. The apartment we were in wasn't very large, and I assumed that we didn't get the right apartment. Looking back now I see that I was supposed to have scrolled down, and the best apartment always shows at the first screen. The unit that we had was OK, but it wasn't very comfortable sitting on the couch as there was no table or anything for your feet.
We cooked more than I thought that we would because we were so tired when we came back from hiking. It was easier to just cook in. It was handy that the grocery store was so close. The kitchen could use some more utensils, but it did come with a few food items. We did have one paper towel when we arrived however, and a full roll would have been nice. We made the mistake of assuming that the one roll in the grocery store would be less, even though they didn't have a price on it, so we paid about three euro for one roll of paper towels.
One bit of information that we were not given was that most of the restaurants in town close on Tuesdays. We had eaten twice at Fink, and both times it was really good. The second time we had had a late lunch, so I only ordered the appetizer of the ravioli stuffed with chestnut. It was so good that I was looking forward to going back our last night for the full dinner of it, but the restaurant was closed. I think Karl felt bad for me as he brought us some chestnut desserts.
We had a car, so we didn't use our pass as much as we should have. Parking down in town cost a fair amount. One night we walked by the river even though there was some rain. We did visit the Duomo, which was interesting, and we hiked the Plose.
We were there in mid October, and our hiking was cut short by snow on the tops of all of the ski ares where we were hoping to hike. We did find some nice lower hikes, and we were able to drive some beautiful places. The whole area is just spectacular. Overall, I would recommend this place. I don't know much about the prices in the area, but I get the idea that this is a good value for what you get, and I liked being in a real town instead of a resort. We drove through towns in the Val Gardena, and I was glad that we had chosen Brixen.

Unforgettable stay on top of a Gelateria

We have just returned from our holiday in Germany and South Tyrol, and without a doubt our week at Residence Hofer was the cherry on top of the ice cream.
Residence Hofer exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed true hospitality and comfort in the neat family unit. We even had an evening of South Tyrolean song with the host and some of his friends. The kids loved their ice cream - according to them the best they have ever tasted.
The establishment is within walking distance from the old town of Brixen/Bressanone. Thanks to the Brixen Card, of which Residence Hofer is a partner, we enjoyed free public transport (including the various cable ways/ski lifts in the area), free access to museums (we loved our visits to Otzi in Bozen at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, and the Hofburg Diocesano in Brixen) and the Brixen Aquarena. Brixen is close to a number of charming villages which we visited either by train or by bus - we hardly used our rental car while we were there.
The hosts are friendly and helpful. Various brochures, maps and books of the area is available at the establishment.
We can highly recommend Residence Hofer and wouldn't mind returning there ourselves!
