Tranquility on La Maddalena.

As the island of La Maddalena wasn't charming enough on it's own, our stay at B&B Mongiardino made it even better. It's just a few minutes drive from the ferry dock and the main street of La Maddalena, but feels far from the tourist center. Very quiet and relaxing. The room and grounds are beautiful. The host Alessandro couldn't have been nicer.

Very dissapointing

Not easy to find as no sign on the road. Then very difficult- and we are not stupid as 2 retired doctors, to get into gate into compound.. No bell on intercom and so we walked up and down road seeing if we could ask a neighbour. We had to telephone, so costing us more, to get in. In addition, the staff speak NO English. So if your Italian is good, you are fine, but otherwise in trouble. Gate also opens and closes automatically after 15 seconds, so you have to be quick h=getting through once open. It also moves slowly. Road it is on is very busy, so noisy, with many motorbikes.
Alessandro is the only member of staff on site and he only speaks Italian.
Sadly we had 2 terribly disappointing nights here.
Very uncomfortable bed. Mattress hard and only one solid pillow each.
No kettle and very noisy fridge.
No internet- difficult as we needed it for next day's boat trip around Maddalena- the whole reason for being there!
Wooden shack for very slow breakfast. I had explained we are vegan when I booked but Alessandro was not told that so no vegan breakfast available. I had explained that to Danny who took my booking on www.bedandbreakfast.it when booked but it had not been passed on. I also had explained that we did not drink tea or coffee and due to husband's gout, no orange juice. They offered us nil to drink that we could drink- not even water- I had to go to get our bottles from bedroom. All very hard as only Italian-only speaking Alessandro. Only non-vegan croissant and non-vegan butter and jam and sour pipped grapes offered to us. I had to do everything with hand symbols to explain to him about our diet and ask for cereals- eventually got 2 tiny plastic pots of cereals- but all took time and we had limited time, as trying to get to boat tour for 8:45am.
It was raining VERY hard when we were there, so got soaked running from room to breakfast area and back too.

Good accommodation on La Madalena

A very nice and clean accommodation.
The location is just outside and a car is advantageous.
The food is typical Sardinian. Toast, jam, cake. First, there were pieces of melon.
We would definitely book here again

Our favorite place!

This is the tenth year that we stay in the B & B Ale and Nany, the wonderful couple of owners who manage this "corner of paradise" surrounded by greenery, with professionalism, kindness, education, rare nowadays!
The structure is equipped with covered car parks, comfortable rooms, maximum cleanliness, wifi and varied and plentiful breakfasts!
From the B & B you can easily reach the coves of La Maddalena and the characteristic Caprera, with as many picturesque coves.
Nany and Ale, for us are now friends, while respecting each other on both sides.
Every time, when it's time to go home we are pervaded by a deep melancholy, not only for the places we leave, but also for Ale and Nany, because it's as if we left family members.
We look forward to returning, see you soon!!! Gabriella and Gianfranco from Rome.

Beautiful experience

Great solution to stay in La Maddalena both by car and motorcycle! Nice and clean structure, with everything you need, but above all great friendliness and helpfulness of the owners who thank you again! See you next time!
