Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel, with a huge free parking lot, beautiful clean pool, breakfast with croissants, cakes, toast, fruit, etc. A 3-minute drive from the main street of Santa Maria di Castellabate, passing by lots of souvenir shops. Restaurant open only for lunch. Clean rooms, they change the towels every day.

Disappointing. I will never return.

Very disappointing. Acceptable rooms but disappointing cleanliness and old torn curtains, worn bedspreads, bunk bed very ugly and difficult to climb (risk of falling for children). Shower that flooded the entire floor. Pool strong point; clean, large, and quite well treated. Mandatory swim cap rule very disappointing. Elevator decoration with a poster of a video of a little girl who dies in a pool because she didn't wear a cap NOT ACCEPTABLE. €1000 2 adults 2 children 4 nights without lunch and dinner only breakfast (also very disappointing. Another weak point is the quantity of insects (ants, mosquitoes, bees) throughout the pool and hotel areas. 2nd day, lots of ants in the room.

I felt bad about it

Let's get one thing straight: understanding and respecting the rules of the property is a must, but the way the staff manages the breakfast room at this hotel is completely unacceptable and devoid of the slightest sense of hospitality.
There is a sign on every table that prohibits bringing food outside. Right, shareable on paper. But the rigidity with which this rule is applied borders on the absurd. Not even the slightest tolerance is given to those who ask to be allowed to take away a single croissant to eat later, or to families with small children who would like to keep a sandwich for a snack by the pool because in the early morning their child is not hungry. Zero flexibility, zero empathy for those who pay to stay on vacation.
The worst and most humiliating thing, however, is the management of the room: the management has well thought of positioning a person with the sole task of watching table by table, physically checking if someone was "stealing" food. An attitude that makes you feel constantly watched and judged, exactly as if you were an undisciplined teenager on a school trip instead of a paying customer.
Going on vacation means relaxing, not feeling under special surveillance while having breakfast. An embarrassing service and a heavy climate that ruin the stay altogether. Highly discouraged, especially for those traveling with children.

Budget management

Total disappointment, property managed really poorly and on a budget, certainly not even remotely 4-star. The worst thing of all was the breakfast: poor quality of products (almost all store-brand), no fresh products, and service almost non-existent. After the first day we decided not to have it there anymore, even though we had paid for it for the following days. Room maintenance is completely absent: broken bathrooms full of malfunctions, safe turned off. The pool area is nice, but packed with mosquitoes that completely ruin the experience. The only things that are saved are the room cleaning and the staff who did it. I would not return, absolutely not recommended!
