A Great B&B in Catania!

We stayed at B&B Sciara Larmisi for four nights in early May 2026 while visiting Catania on the fifth leg of a five week visit to Sicily. We reserved nine months in advance based on its #1 ranking and many positive reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We have many positive things to say about B&B Sciara Larmisi. Perhaps its greatest strength is Emanuele who was our welcoming, gracious, patient and helpful host; he is the driving force that makes Sciara Larmisi the #1 B&B in Catania. Another strength is its ideal location, across from a park (Piazza Cutelli) and just a bit away from but only a ten minute walk to the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area; a bit further to the metro and a nice selection of restaurants; and within walking distance of the seafront and the main bus station (15 minutes away) for day trips outside the city. Then there are the facilities; we stayed in the Anapo, an air conditioned two room apartment (bedroom and living room), as well as a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator and washing machine and the building has a passenger elevator which was great for dealing with our suitcases. Another plus is a very nice breakfast buffet with seating available on a lovely sun-filled terrace which was a great way to start each day. Finally, there was the cost which we found quite reasonable. The only problem that we encountered during our stay was that, through no fault of Sciara Larmisi, the street just in front of the hotel was under construction in early May which caused some inconvenience when arriving and departing with luggage, but that construction must surely be finished by now! Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at B&B Sciara Larmisi and have no hesitation in recommending for a stay in Catania.

This hotel is perfectly located near public transport (train, bus) and the city center at a quiet city square. The staff is extremely nice and helpful (tips about the highlights of the city, etc.) and breakfast was amazing! I highly recommend.

Highly recommended

Excellent location, close to the main sightseeing sites, all walking in minutes, large room, clean. There is a fridge bar with water and soft drinks, tea and coffee available in the room as well. There is iron to pass, dryer and hoodie as well. Breakfast simple but very tasty (fruit, yogurt, bread, cold, juice). Daily cleaning. Giuseppe is who welcomed us and gave us all the guidance, very caring and welcoming. The airport bus passes ahead and there is a convention with parking (20 euros/day).

The host is incredibly kind and helpful. The room facilities are flawless; the bed is spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast is abundant, and there is an elevator. Just turn left downstairs and walk a short distance to reach the main attractions. Great value for money, with the only minor drawback being the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom. Highly recommended!
