Amazing hotel and amazing restaurant on Lake Como!

We had a wonderful time at the Metropole Suisse hotel on Lake Como. We have stayed before at this hotel, but they now have renovated rooms and for our family, the location of this hotel was excellent. We also feel they have one of the best local restaurants in Como having stayed 3 nights and trying many different restaurants, the hotel's restaurant was simply one of the best!

Hi, Kate.
The staff was very nice but a deplorable room, scary and without any comfort!
I don't understand! At this price
We had booked 2 nights. Total 300 euros with breakfast.
Next to our room 75 . We saw each other. That there was indeed a modern room.
In short, they don’t like the French?

Enjoyable stay

The hotel is in a prime location in the middle of Como with both the town and boats within easy walking distance. Staff could not do enough for you and breakfast was great with a plentiful choice and fabulous views overlooking the lake. My only criticisms were that the small single bed which was added to our double room was extremely uncomfortable - I could feel every spring underneath me! Also, I think for the cost of the room (Almost 400 Euro's a night) there should of been complimentary water/tea/coffee facilities instead of having to pay extra for them. Other than this, my stay was pleasant and enjoyable.

Helpful staff

Great location. Authentic ambience. Kind and helpful staff. The staff made up for the noise disturbance from the next room by doing what they could- thought it was really the inconsiderate guests next door... Also helped mind our luggage when we were sightseeing .

Bad Bar opening hours

Bar closes 10.30!even for residents- no flexibility shown Complete lack of empathy with people on holidays who might like a night cap.Very disappointing given the rates charged. I was told we would be open at 7.00 in the morning- OMG for Whiskey.
