Villa Relais Desenzano
After leaving the Scottish weather behind and arriving in glorious Italy, we were already winning. Then we arrived at Viola Relais and realised we’d somehow managed to pick a proper wee gem.
From the minute we arrived, everything was fantastic. The place is beautiful — modern, stylish, spotless and clearly very well looked after. Our room was gorgeous, comfortable and had everything we needed.
The pool… well, that was dangerous.
We had every intention of getting out and exploring Lake Garda every day, but then the sun was shining, there was a pool and there was absolutely no reason to move. We became very good at doing nothing. In fact, by day three we were practically professionals.
The breakfast was brilliant too. Plenty of choice and delicious.
The location is perfect — nice and peaceful but still close enough to walk into Desenzano, the lake, restaurants and the ferry. So you can have a lovely relaxing stay without feeling like you’ve been transported into the middle of nowhere.
But honestly, the best thing about Viola Relais is the people. Valentina and the team were absolutely lovely. So welcoming, friendly and helpful, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble.
I genuinely can’t find much to complain about here.
The weather was better than home, the food was better than home and then we had to go home.
Beautiful place, fabulous pool, great breakfast, brilliant location and fantastic staff.
We absolutely loved our stay at Viola Relais and would 100% recommend it.

Great. Great.
Room spacious. Bathroom spacious with large window to the bedroom. You can close it too. Sunny balcony. Car is on private property. Gratis. Breakfast delicious fresh croissants and you could get all kinds of eggs. They started baking. Valentina Sheila and Jarda really top women.
Lake Garda was a 10-minute walk away. Nearby all kinds of restaurants
Really a recommendation and we will definitely be back here.
