Comfortable and great location.
We had a very nice stay at Hotel
Annunziata. We loved the location and our view of the palace. The front desk staff was always available and gave friendly greetings. The room was very comfortable, although the air conditioner could have been a little stronger with the heat outside. It did work well enough though.
We very much enjoyed the bike rentals for the day, and the spritz bar.

About the air conditioning, here's how things stood: these past days Ferrara was the hottest city in Italy, 41°C outside and 25°C in the room. That's already a 16-degree gap, and going lower would only risk doing harm to your health. The suggestion is well taken, though.
I'm also happy you took out the bikes and stopped by the Bitter Spritz Bar: two of the things we love offering, to our guests and to the people of Ferrara alike.

Ask for one of the rooms with a view
Clean and functional view with a magic view over Palazzo Estense. Couldn’t get a better location.

Always a certainty. I have been frequenting this establishment for many years and can only express 5 stars. The atmosphere is that of home in an exceptional location, facing the castle in a timeless ambiance, right in the historic center.
And then there is the pleasant and by no means obvious surprise of Zeno's Bitter Spritz, exceptionally natural and refined; you would be foolish not to enjoy one.

Lovely boutique hotel
A very nice hotel. Great location, very clean and lovely staff. We stayed one night and were given a free upgrade to a castello facing suite which was very nice. We enjoyed the bike rentals and chose to park our car at an independent garage a few minutes walk away, rather than look for street parking, for which they offered a discount coupon. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We appreciated the air conditioning, although it did not completely cool the room on the very hot day we visited. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Ferrara.

Perfect location, helpful staff, happy to return!
Spent a lovely week in Ferrara with Hotel Annunziata as my home base. Cannot beat its location right on the piazza of Castello Estense. Multiple restaurants, shops, and sights right outside your door. Easy to reach from the train station - a quick 10 min bus ride or an easy 20-minute walk. The Fly-Bus Shuttle to/from Bologna airport also stops a block away, next to the Castle.
My room was spacious and comfortable (Superior, Castle View). A hot water kettle would have made it perfect but it was not a deal-breaker.
The staff of Hotel Annunziata really shine. Always ready to answer questions with helpful information. When I asked about making a day trip to Comacchio by public transportation, they looked up the public bus schedules for for me, and thanks to their assistance, all went smoothly and I had a great day there. The MyFe tourist card was a great deal as it covers most museums and most of the nightly tourist tax.

Thank you for this, and for basically writing a small travel guide while you were at it. The bus from the station, the 20-minute walk, the Fly-Bus to Bologna airport right by the Castle, the MyFe card covering museums and most of the tourist tax: anyone who reads your review will arrive already prepared.
You chose the right base. Right on the piazza of Castello Estense, with restaurants, shops and sights at the door.
On the kettle: that one is a deliberate choice. We removed them because too many ended up used to cook food in the room, which is a real issue in a small historic building. So we do it differently. Hot water comes to your room in a thermos, on request, at any hour. Next time just ask at reception and it's yours.
The team will be glad to read your words. A guest who asks about Comacchio and a bus timetable is exactly the kind of question they like, and I'm happy the day trip went smoothly.
