Our experience was amazing. We picked the room with the sauna, and I would highly recommend this after a day of walking and exploring.

Do not recommend
We stayed at the Hotel Renaissance for 3 nights in April 2026. We booked a Superior Double Room. Our room was in the back of the hotel. There was one small window that opened into a shaft in the middle of the block of buildings. By day two, the smell of sewage coming from the window was overwhelming. We brought the front desk staff into the room to smell the strong odor. She said it is like that "when the weather changes." I explained that we could not stay in a room with that strong of a smell of sewage. She did not answer. Then she offered to spray perfume. This was not acceptable. We could not open the window again for our entire stay.
Additionally their website states "Breakfast Room Service Free" but we were informed that it was not free, "Welcome Drink" - this was not offered and "Shuttle bus to the train station" but when we asked it was also not offered.
Overall we did not have a good stay and would not recommend the hotel. This is unfortunate as the location is terrific. May be if you insist on a room in the front of the hotel you may have a better experience

Dear guests, I am Sabina, owner of Hotel Renaissance whom you talked to at checkout and during your stay.
I am a bitbastonished about the timing of your complaint, you could have talked about it during your stay.
Anyhow, let me answer to it step by step:
Room on the back site of the hotel not acceptable: I don’t think that there are any hotels that have rooms only on the front side of a building.
Breakfast
We abolished breakfast included in the rate during the pandemic, but if you book it ,it is possible at the rate of 10 € pp. You did not book it in advance nor did you ask for it at your arrival.
Shuttle to/from the station: do you really think that a small hotel of only 9 rooms could offer a service like this for free? Nobody ever offered it ! We can organize a service which costs too much and recommend cabs that cost less.
Sewage smell: when the weather changes there can be a bit of smell sometimes, but actually we have people staying in the room during the whole year and nobody felt it as unacceptable as you!
Lastly we would have really preferred that you had uttered all your unhappiness during your stay, because we could have done something about it, but not after a month that you have left.
Of course we accept the fact that you don’t recommend us, simply you can’t please everybody and 99% of our customers are more than happy to stay at our hotel.

Hotel is at the city center, walking distance to most attractions. We could even come back to the room between activities for a short rest. All the staff were courteous and willing to help with whatever need we had. There were only my wife and I in the party, but we rented the family suite since only that one was available for the dates versus standard room. We really liked the extra space it provided. We would stay again in this hotel if we revisit Florence.

This property was in a perfect location! Everything seemed to be 10-15 min walkable to everything. The staff was very friendly as well. They had a parking garage a few blocks away that we were able to park at for a daily fee.

The hotel is centrally located. Staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable. Elevator was a great plus especially if you have luggage. There were 40 steps to climb in case you want to walk upstairs. Now the bad part about the stay…..noisy. The street below is lively at night especially on the weekends. Noise and partying till 4 Am. Otherwise everything else is good.
