A fairytale castle
I spent only one night at this property, but I will certainly not forget it, nor will I forget the kindness of its owners. The hotel is located in the middle of the Dolomites, a stone's throw from Brunico, Plan de Corones, and Lake Braies. The building, historic but completely renovated in a modern and efficient way, despite its austere appearance, gives the impression of being warm and welcoming. The rooms/suites are spacious and equipped with every comfort. Everything is perfect and spotless. Breakfast, served in the room, is excellent and features very fresh, high-quality products.
Walter and his wife are very kind and very helpful, ready to satisfy every need. The welcome aperitif served by the pool was very much appreciated, as was the shuttle service (provided personally with their own car) from the hotel to Norbert Niederkofler's famous restaurant, Atelier Moessmer.
In short, a delightful place, masterfully managed, where I will definitely return, perhaps for a longer vacation.

Exceptional, Elegant Hotel Close to Bruneck with Kind, Welcoming Hosts
This quiet, elegantly understated hotel is tucked away in the small town of San Lorenzo di Sebato, which is a short drive from Brunico. We stayed in this charming hotel during the Christmas holidays to ski in Kronplatz and were bowled over by the serene, natural beauty of the surrounding mountains and countryside as well as the historic building that was tastefully and thoughtfully restored by our gracious, unassuming hosts, Walter and Sabine. We especially appreciated that the hotel had preserved much of the architectural details of this 1000+ year old structure but was updated with modern, contemporary comforts, such as a ski equipment room where each suite had its own designated locker complete with ski boot and glove dryers. The cellar was converted into a nordic spa, which had a sauna, steam bath and cold plunge as well as areas to sit and unwind with a cup of tea and enjoy downtime at your own pace. The staff was lovely and friendly and the breakfasts, delivered each morning to our room with fresh fruit and an array of goodies, were an amazing start to each day. We look forward to coming back and hope to see Walter, Sabine and Mr. Grey (the resident friendly cat) again.

A fairytale castle
I stayed only one night in this delightful place, but I will certainly not forget it, nor will I forget its very kind owners. A warm and familiar environment, yet equipped with every comfort, this small hotel stands out for the charm of the history it tells, for the elegance of its rooms, and for the courtesy and helpfulness of Walter and his wife. From the aperitif offered upon arrival by the pool, to the shuttle service (free and done with their own car) from the hotel to the Atelier Moessmer restaurant (and back), to the excellent breakfast served in the suite, it was a continuous stream of kindness and attention. The room where we stayed was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. In short, an enchanting place nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, a stone's throw from Brunico, Plan de Corones, and Lake Braies, where the stay is the best one could find. I will certainly return, and definitely for a longer period.

Hospitality at its best!
I don't even want to write about the attention to detail, the great ambiance, the incredibly beautiful house ... Others have already done that.
I would like to highlight that Walter is a perfect host. We have never felt more cared for and comfortable than with him. He is also not too shy to act as a chauffeur and drive us to the perfect and delicious meal at Mr. Niederkofler's and pick us up again at night. Thank you.

Perfect stay!
Unfortunately we spent only 24 hours in this beautiful property, but we can say that we enjoyed and appreciated every single lovely Service and detail offered.
Castel Maurn is a real historical jewel masterfully restored by the owners, Sabine and Walter, who have enhanced its beauty by inserting details and architectural elements well-kept and tasteful.
The atmosphere that you breathe and live in the round crossing the threshold of the property is difficult to describe in words; you could say that the same harmony that the Puster Valley transmits in all its grace and natural magnificence is enclosed here, within the walls of this fairytale dwelling and its park / garden exposed in full sun, very welcoming and where the friendly hosts welcomed us with a glass of excellent bubbles made from apple juice.
Every exquisite detail made our stay unforgettable and the great availability of Sabine and Walter contributed to the best and beyond.
