A pleasant surprise at Frassino.

We were very well received by Alberto and Alma, who gave us a lot of tips about the touristic spots around the area.
Not only they had information about the scenery routes, but also about the local food production, such as sausages, butter and apples, and also the culture of the Varaita Valley.
The restaurant recommendation was also spot on! They served us a banquet at a very reasonable price.
Overall the room was clean and comfortable to spend the night since it's very quiet. The river run a few meters from the house, and it's quite peaceful to lie down after a long trip and just listen to the water running.
The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise with bread, cakes, local butter, home made jam, and the local salami.
I wish I could have stayed a little longer to explore this beautiful region.
Alberto is a very interesting person, and we have spent quite some time chatting. This place is definitely recommended if you are traveling that way.
My dad was very happy to finally see the region his ancestors came from.

Friendly, homely B&B in beautiful Val Variata

B&B Barba is a quaint, little B&B nestled in the beautiful Val Variata. With the Cottian Alps to the north and the Maritime Alps to the south this is a perfect place for hikers. Drive just a few kilometers west and you will have lovely views of the snow covered peak of Monviso. Barba Bertu is a very friendly, helpful and jovial host. Highly recommended if you are looking for a peaceful and friendly place to rest your sore legs after a day of strenuous hiking.

L'ospite Thomas è il cliente perfetto! Educato, gentile, rispettoso degli orari.... Siamo contenti che abbia apprezzato il nostro Bed e speriamo di rivederlo ancora ai piedi del Monviso! Per noi è stato (e sarà di nuovo) un grande piacere ospitarlo!!!

A B&B with a special flavor

Nested in beautiful Val Varaita, surrounded by the majesty of Maritime Alpes, and the peace of mountain pastures, this B&B offers much more than clean, nicely furnished rooms (with ensuite facilities) and an excellent breakfast with freshly brewed coffee or tea, bred, home made cakes and jam, typical cheese (tomino) with chestnut honey. The extra bonus is the owner, Alberto Burzio, aka Barba Bertu, who entertains his guests with charming stories about the valley and its people, provides useful info about tour itineraries, and is always willing to satisfy everyone's needs. He is a special character, and this makes the difference!

Séjour et accueil comme à la maison

Faites une halte dans le B/B de Barba Bertu, un personnage au fort caractère qui aurait pu inspirer Marcel Pagnol pour l'un de ses nombreux romans... Prenez le temps de découvrir le parcours atypique de cet homme qui a un nombre impressionnant d'anecdotes et d'histoires à vous conter. Logement propre avec petit-déjeuner copieux incluant les succulents gâteaux faits maison de la discrète et serviable Alma. Situé à l'entrée de cette vallée qui vous conduit aux cols alpins renommés de l'Agnel et du Sampeyre, il se trouve à proximité de restaurants à la cuisine savoureuse et typique, accessibles en quelques minutes à pied. Commodités pour les motards et les cyclistes qui veulent garer leurs précieux compagnons dans un garage sécurisé. Un grand merci pour votre hospitalité!

Piacevolissimo soggiorno al bed Barba Bertu

Sempre molto piacevole soggiornare al bed Barba Berdu. Sono stata accolta da Alberto che con il suo fare scherzoso mi ha rallegrata mentre la cordialità e le attenzioni di Alma mi hanno fatta sentire ben accolta e a mio agio. Le camere molto curate e le abbondanti e buonissime colazioni hanno reso il soggiorno gradevolissimo.
