Weekend of August

Central structure facing the lake with a few rooms so not chaotic and very well maintained and clean.
We had room 9 with a direct view of the lake.... fantastic awakening with the sound of the waves in the background.
Breakfast on the terrace to take your breath away. Braleakfast proposal not very rich but complete with everything from sweet to savory.
If I have to find a mole is only x the parking that unfortunately in Gargnano is difficult to find and for the double bed consisting of 2 single mattresses joined is not the best. For the rest super nice and helpful staff... definitely will be back!

Cosy, courteous in a prime location

The hotel is run in a family atmosphere, very accommodating in the reception, the rooms very clean, if necessary with terrace and view over the lake. Breakfast without blame on terrace or indoors directly on the water, depending on the weather.

Try it!!!

Refined and classy hotel. Care and attention to detail to ensure guests have an unforgettable stay. Wonderful location and lovely view of the lake from the terrace where you can consume in peace delicious and hearty breakfasts. Rooms spotless, spacious and with charming furnishings (ours also had a lovely and romantic terrace overlooking the lake). Everything organized and managed with care and passion. A beautiful experience! Highly recommended!

Bad experience

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Very bad experience. While the location is good, the atmosphere is impersonal and the service is terrible. The entrance including the reception desk is closed most of the time so you can not acces the actual hotel or find someone to talk to if you have any request. Upon arrival, the lady in charge was impersonal and unwelcoming. She asked for a copy of my passport and when I came down to give it to her she was gone and the hotel entrance was closed. She never mentioned it again. The felt more like a student residence than a hotel. The worst part: Following a sign in the bathroom to leave the used towels on the floor if you need them changed, I did just that. What they did was put the dirty towels back on the rack and the hangers, saying that the towels are changed every three days, and if we wanted them changed we had to pay 5 euros (!). This is not only cheap but also dishonest. They should have put that sign from the beginning. Had I known beforehand I would have gladly paid the 5 euros. Rather than re-use a dirty towel, I had to use my beach towel after the shower. I would strongly recommend people to stay away from that hotel. Our friends stayed in another nearby hotel in the same price range and they had a fantastic experience. Avoid hotel Garni Bartabel. For us it is certainly never ever again.

Ideal hotel and location

We had a lovely room with patio, and enjoyed our visit very much. The owner is very charming and we enjoyed learning of her personal history, as well as her staff. The breakfast is terrific, and coffee/capuccino unlimited. Perfect central location to the dock and shops, completely quiet.
