We booked a "superior" room but it looked out onto an adjacent building about 5 metres away. We requested a better room which was declined. The lighting in the bedroom was awful: a floor lamp about 1 metre high and two small bedside lamps. The room safe wouldn't open since the batteries had to be replaced. It was very light and rested above the fridge so a thief could easily take it away. The restaurant was very expensive (eg. 31 euros for a sea bass). The shutter to the main window wouldn't close properly but that was resolved,

Lights and shadows

An oasis of peace in the heart of the Pisan countryside. The structure is very charming, it seems to stay in a real castle. Spectacular view of the valley circumstances. The staff is very professional, ready to fulfill any request. Breakfast is good, with high quality produce and raw materials, but I would have expected more variety for a hotel of this caliber. The only sore point, in some ways, are the rooms: for goodness sake, they are spacious and spacious, but not without problems. The climate inside the rooms is cold, the wall air conditioner is not enough to heat them properly. They are not entirely satisfactorily lit and, especially those on the ground floor (the Deluxe Suites) are partially lacking in privacy. Some are even moist. One last note: I had requested a room with a Jacuzzi, and it was actually assigned to me; the problem was that there is literally only a bathtub, not a shower (there is a shower that you can extract and use as a shower). I am a boy, but for an elderly person it would be very very difficult to use it for washing. The pool is operational but not spotless. The bistro is modest, value for money a bit too unbalanced. In short, a magnificent place, but with small details to take care of: the price to stay should be justified by greater attention to detail

Fairytale atmosphere at the Castle of San Ruffino

We stayed at Castello di San Ruffino and the experience was truly unforgettable. Our suite with frescoed coffered vaults has given us a unique, refined atmosphere of great historical charm. The bathroom with hydromassage made the stay even more comfortable and relaxing.
The garden and the panoramic terrace are spectacular, with attention to detail, perfect for enjoying moments of peace immersed in the beauty of the Tuscan landscape.
The dinner at the bistro was a real surprise: hearty and delicious dishes, prepared with high quality local products and accompanied by a truly excellent selection of local wines. Special thanks to chef Camillo, who with passion and professionalism made the gastronomic experience memorable.
A place where history, taste and hospitality meet: highly recommended!
