Garni Crystal in the heart
We have been coming here forever and we always find the usual qualities of sympathy, care, genuineness and absolute cleanliness, such as to make everything shine. One of the first requirements we seek.
The rooms are lovely, romantic, warm and welcoming. The family meets every need required, whether it is an extra key, an addition or change of blankets, a correspondence collection.
Worthy of note is the breakfast, really wide and varied, quality as only in South Tyrol you find it: from sweets to savory, yogurt with granola and seeds of all kinds, jams of all tastes, spreads, juices and a separate corner for those who want to be careful with the line.
Parking and ski storage are also available, free of charge.

Avoid if you want to enjoy your holiday and feel welcome
What was even more upsetting is that my parents unfortunately left a bag there (we are all humans and I bet almost everyone who travelled forgot or lost at least one thing in his life). A few weeks after I was again in St Vigilio and so my husband stopped by to collect it (I wanted to avoid to deal with the owner, so I asked him). In order to avoid any discussions and sort this out quickly, he tried to be polite but the owner first didn’t trust him (of course one comes to St Vigilio with three small kids to steal bags around) and then ranting against my parents and people who forget their stuff she gave him the bag. Her attitude was once again very rude and impolite and therefore we can’t recommend this place.

Good price & quality
Some observations to keep in mind though:
• Access is good, easy to park – easy to get your stuff in. Suggest take rooms on the ground floor (less walking!).
• Rooms not too big, but then again who cares/minds – there is a lounge area available.
• First station of the lifts is like 100m away – easy to walk, and if one feels lazy there is also storage for equipment there. The garni has it free of charge (of course), but in case you’re lazy. Like I was…
• Phone situation – so the garni has a landline, however the setup is: outside callers need to call the line, which is redirected to the owner, who then needs to walk down to the reception, swap something and the caller needs to call again. Cumbersome! Better they would have said no phone, and there would be no hopes.
• Internet access – yes, it is offered free of charge, but signal is VERY weak and slow. Alternative is to get your own access. Getting a sim card is a pain though – one must drive to Bruneck, as they are not available in San Vigilio. BTW: you WILL need an ID or they will not sell it to you! although there is a pretty big phone shop on the main street in Bruneck (most western part of the main shopping street - Stadtgasse, walk ‘downstairs’) where it is possible without the freaken ID.
• Once you’re done the final payment is in cash – personally I would be more happy with a pin terminal.
• The main building doesn’t have a ”pool” but a “WHIRLpool” (small difference in words, big in size; still – very nice)
Other observation - San Vigillio, after 7pm, is pretty much DEAD – attractions are limited. Not many restaurants, and prices are quite high (160euro for a 4 persons dinner without any bells and whistles, moderate drinks).
Yes, I would recommend this place to anybody. Yet no – I would not stay there again. Not because I didn’t like it, but because there are so many other places I haven’t been to yet!
