Fantastic pearl.

The most beautiful place, lovely pool area with sun and shade and lots of sun loungers. The hotel is very clean and has large rooms, we stayed with balcony where we had a lovely view to the mountains. The food is five stars and it applies both breakfast and especially a lush evening menu. Top service from reception and serving staff.

Under the old owners, it was worth 4 stars. Under the new tenants, at most 2.5 stars.

Hotel Kristall experience report.
To the facts:
After 5 years, we decided on short notice to visit this establishment.
to pay another visit.
At that time, the hotel was well-maintained under the previous (unfortunately deceased)
owner and certainly worth its 4 stars.
A tenant was appointed and the house was "renovated."
Regarding the current condition and our experiences:
However, the renovation was to the detriment of the guests.
The former saltwater pool was replaced by a chlorine pool.
Our telephone inquiry (!!!) for a free suite for 1 week
was confirmed.
So off to Marling.
First negative surprise: They wanted to take our passports immediately, without a prior room inspection.
Clearly, in this context, a preliminary invoice for 8 days had already been created,
even though no legally binding booking was in place.
The "free suite" was not available.
Instead, we were offered a dark, small, and hot room under the roof.
.
Alternatively, room 101. On the ground floor, right by the parking lot.
We took it for form's sake.
Worn out, terrible mattresses, the bathroom was characterized by rusty
drainage systems and minimal amenities (in a 4-star hotel, there should
at least be a bidet).
Curtains were not present, only blinds.
Since the room was directly by the parking lot, sleep was out of the question,
as it was continuously lit and frequented.
The previous dinner was quite mediocre.
The duck breast filet offered as the main course certainly had the quality
to dull knife blades and was surrounded by a thick
layer of fat. The dessert could, with good will, fit on a
tablespoon. In short: One stood up from the table almost hungry.
I must, however, commend that the service did its best.
After a half-awake night, it was time for breakfast.
. That was fine overall,
the selection was okay, even though it was better 5 years ago. 3*.
Unfortunately, I had an extreme attack of hypertension that morning
and had to cut my stay short for health reasons.
Then comes the kicker: Upon departure (1 night), we were supposed to pay the full 8 days for a supposedly fixed booking for 1 week, while we were threatened with the
police.
Allegedly, we had booked fixed, even though only a partial inquiry took place.
Such an approach is absolutely unacceptable and has not happened to us so far
in any hotel (we know a few here).
I wonder who was bribed to keep the 4 stars
intact!
We will initiate legal action and will definitely not recommend this establishment!!!!
A small gem in Tarifa

Familie Gurschler

Tyrolean hotel where time has stood still for 50 years

Pros · The spacious suite with lots of light and a large terrace (albeit without separation --> privacy) with mountain views, nice breakfast.
The good weather, the proximity to the bustling town of Merano.
The pool in the middle of the garden is worth a nice picture but unfortunately not usable in September (the water is far too cold, not heated).
Cons · No air conditioning, no box spring (very moderate bed), no safe, no parquet, no mini bar, no make-up mirror, no coffee in the room, not even a kettle, old, old-fashioned furniture; for an expensive 4 star hotel (room with breakfast per night 230 EUR) there is a lot missing.

Family holiday with the family

We stayed at this hotel a week in August with children. The hotel is located in the village of Marlengo. Everything is very well organized and you can enjoy a very nice view of the valley on Merano and the valley leading to Bolzano. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool with a garden where you can relax in the shade of the trees or taking a nice sauna. The food definitely stands out, both breakfast and dinner are plentiful with many delicious dishes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The children have grown so attached to Hasna that she is a nice, kind and professional person. We hope to return soon!
